Description
前記対向基板には、柱状スペーサが形成され、前記TFT基板の前記柱状スペーサに対応する部分には台座が形成され、前記柱状スペーサの先端には、凸部と凹部が存在し、前記凹部に対応して前記台座が形成されており、前記凹部は、端部が開放されて、前記柱状スペーサの側壁とつながっていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置である。
Claims (3)
- 走査線が第1の方向に延在して第2の方向に配列し、映像信号線が第2の方向に延在して第1の方向に配列したTFT基板と、ブラックマトリクスとカラーフィルタを有する対向基板との間に液晶が挟持され、表示領域が短辺と長辺を有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記対向基板には、柱状スペーサが形成され、
前記TFT基板の前記柱状スペーサに対応する部分には台座が形成され、
前記柱状スペーサの先端には、凸部と凹部が存在し、
前記凹部に対向して前記台座が存在しており、
前記凹部は、両端が開放された溝状であり、前記柱状スペーサの側壁とつながっており、
第1の柱状スペーサの前記溝の方向は、前記表示領域の前記長辺と同じ方向であり、第2の柱状スペーサの前記溝の方向は、前記表示領域の短辺と同じ方向であり、
前記第1の柱状スペーサと前記第2の柱状スペーサが混在して使用されており、
前記第1の柱状スペーサの数は、前記長辺付近においては、前記第2の柱状スペーサの数よりも多く、前記第2の柱状スペーサの数は、前記短辺付近においては、前記第1の柱状スペーサの数よりも多いことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の柱状スペーサと前記第2の柱状スペーサは交互に使用されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 走査線が第1の方向に延在して第2の方向に配列し、映像信号線が第2の方向に延在して第1の方向に配列したTFT基板と、ブラックマトリクスとカラーフィルタを有する対向基板との間に液晶が挟持され、表示領域が短辺と長辺を有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記対向基板には、柱状スペーサが形成され、
前記TFT基板の前記柱状スペーサに対応する部分には台座が形成され、
前記柱状スペーサの先端の片側には凸部が存在し、前記先端の他の側には凹部が存在し、
前記凹部は、前記凸部との境界部分以外では、端部が開放されて前記柱状スペーサの側壁とつながっており、
前記凹部に対向して前記台座が存在しており、
第1の柱状スペーサの前記凸部の境界は第1の方向に形成されており、第2の柱状スペーサの前記凸部の境界は第2の方向に形成されており、第3の柱状スペーサの前記凸部の境界は第3の方向に形成されており、第4の柱状スペーサの前記凸部の境界は第4の方向に形成されており、
前記第1の方向と、前記第2の方向と、前記第3の方向と、前記第4の方向とは互いにほぼ90度ずれており、
前記第1の柱状スペーサと、前記第2の柱状スペーサと、前記第3の柱状スペーサと、前記第4の柱状スペーサとは混在して使用されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
