Description
(1) 電線の外被から露出された導体が導通接続されるバレル部と、相手端子と導通されるタブ端子部とを備え、前記バレル部の先端が連結部を介して帯状のキャリアに連結された状態から、前記連結部を切断することで前記キャリアから切り離されて使用されるコネクタ端子の製造方法であって、
前記連結部には、前記バレル部が形成された側とは反対側の下面に幅方向へわたって切断溝が形成され、
前記連結部は、前記バレル部が形成された側の上面から前記下面の前記切断溝の方向にカッターで切断され、
前記キャリアから切り離された前記コネクタ端子の前記バレル部に前記電線の導体が接続され、次いで、前記バレル部及び前記電線の端部が樹脂モールドによって覆われて防水される、
こと。
(2) 上記(1)の構成のコネクタ端子の製造方法において、銅または銅合金から形成されてなり、前記導体がアルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金からなる前記電線が接続されること。
したがって、バリが樹脂モールドから突出して防水性を低下させるような不具合をなくすことができ、樹脂モールドによる電線との接続箇所の防水性を長期にわたって良好に維持することができ、高い接続信頼性を得ることができる。
上記(2)の構成のコネクタ端子の製造方法では、アルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金ならなる導体を有する電線を接続することにより、異種金属接触による電食が大きな銅−アルミニウム接触となるような場合でも、この異種金属接触箇所を樹脂モールドによって確実に防水することができ、良好な耐食性を確保することができる。

Claims (2)
- 電線の外被から露出された導体が導通接続されるバレル部と、相手端子と導通されるタブ端子部とを備え、前記バレル部の先端が連結部を介して帯状のキャリアに連結された状態から、前記連結部を切断することで前記キャリアから切り離されて使用されるコネクタ端子の製造方法であって、
前記連結部には、前記バレル部が形成された側とは反対側の下面に幅方向へわたって切断溝が形成され、
前記連結部は、前記バレル部が形成された側の上面から前記下面の前記切断溝の方向にカッターで切断され、
前記キャリアから切り離された前記コネクタ端子の前記バレル部に前記電線の導体が接続され、次いで、前記バレル部及び前記電線の端部が樹脂モールドによって覆われて防水される、
ことを特徴とするコネクタ端子の製造方法。 - 銅または銅合金から形成されてなり、前記導体がアルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金からなる前記電線が接続されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のコネクタ端子の製造方法。
