- 以下のガラス組成(酸化物ベースで質量%)を含有するかまたはそれらからなる高い紫外線透過率を有するホウケイ酸ガラス。
SiO2 65〜72
B2O3 15〜19.5
Al2O3 4〜6
Na2O 0.5〜3.5
K2O 1〜3.5
Li2O 0.3〜1.5
CaO 0〜1.0
BaO 0.5〜4.0
Li2O+Na2O+K2Oの合計 3.8〜5.5
CaO+BaOの合計 1〜4 ならびに
1または複数の非酸化性気泡除去剤 0.1〜2.0
ただし、1または複数の還元剤が、0.05〜0.5質量%の量でガラスの出発物質に添加され、
前記ホウケイ酸ガラスは、Fe2O3を含まない。 - 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが68〜72質量%のSiO2含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが、4.25質量%〜6質量%の範囲のAl2O3含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが1.5〜3質量%の範囲のK2O含有量を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが0.5〜2質量%の範囲のNa2O含有量を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが0.5〜1.3質量%の範囲のLi2O含有量を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが0.2〜1.0質量%の範囲のCaO含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスが0.75〜3.8質量%の範囲のBaO含有量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記1または複数の非酸化性気泡除去剤が塩化物、フッ化物および/または硫酸塩から選択されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記還元剤が糖類、アルミニウム粉末、炭素または金属ケイ素から選択されていることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- 前記ホウケイ酸ガラスの透過率が1mmの層厚で254nmの紫外域で75%を超えることを特徴とする、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラス。
- UV透過性材料としての請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載のホウケイ酸ガラスの使用。
- 管形状または棒形状における、両者とも楕円形または平坦な、板ガラスまたはその他の規定された形状としての請求項12記載のホウケイ酸ガラスの使用。
- 前記UV透過性材料は、容器類、紫外線透過ランプ、紫外線ランプ用の保護管、紫外線酸化反応器、紫外線火炎検出器、UV光電池、太陽反応器、スペクトル分析器、光電子増倍管用および窓からなる群から選択される物品に使用される材料である請求項12記載のホウケイ酸ガラスの使用。
