Description
a)UHMwPE、紡糸溶媒、および顔料を含む混合物を提供するステップと、
b)この混合物からゲル紡糸法によりマルチフィラメント糸を紡糸するステップと
を含む方法により得られるマルチフィラメント糸を含む場合に、このような縫合糸が得られる。
[極限粘度]
極限粘度(IV)は、PTC−179法(Hercules Inc.Rev.、1982年4月29日)に従い、135℃のデカリン中で、溶解時間を16時間とし、酸化防止剤としてDBPCを2g/l溶液の量で用いて、異なる濃度で測定された粘度を濃度ゼロに外挿することによって決定される。
引張特性:ASTM D885Mに準ずる手順を用いて、マルチフィラメント糸の強度、引張弾性率(または弾性率)、および破断伸び(またはeab)の定義および測定を行う。繊維の公称標線間距離を500mm、クロスヘッド速度を50%/分とし、Fibre Grip D5618C型のインストロン(Instron)2714つかみ具を使用する。測定された応力−歪み曲線に基づき、弾性率を0.3〜1%歪みの傾きとして決定する。弾性率および強度を求める場合は、測定された引張力を繊度(10メートルの繊維を秤量することにより決定される)で除し、GPa単位の値は、密度を0.97g/cm3と仮定して求める。
ISO 10993−12:2002(E)の要件に従い、マルチフィラメント糸試料の抽出を、極性溶媒(蒸留水)中および無極性溶媒(綿実油)中の両方で実施した。抽出条件を、37℃で24および72時間とした。
ISO 10993−5、1999:医療用具の生物学的評価−第5部:in vitro細胞毒性試験(Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices−Part5:Tests for in vitro cytotoxicity)に従い細胞毒性試験を実施した。試験品の抽出物(試料は顔料を2.0重量%まで含む)に対する、哺乳動物(L929マウス線維芽細胞培養物)の単層の生物学的反応を測定した。抽出物は、CO2を5±1%含む加湿雰囲気中、37℃(±1)、24時間で調製した。陽性(天然ゴム)および陰性(シリコーン)対照品を調製することにより、試験系が適正に機能していることを確認した。細胞培養物の維持培地を試験品または対照品の抽出物に交換してトリプリケートとし、培養物を37℃(±1)で48時間インキュベートした。生物学的反応を以下の尺度で評価した。
グレード0(反応なし)
グレード1(軽微な反応)
グレード2(軽度の反応)
グレード3(中等度の反応)
グレード4(強度の反応)
デカリン、IVがそれぞれ14、0.5、1、1.5のUHMwPE粉末を6質量%、アルミニウム−クロム−コバルトオキシド顔料(カチオンは、Co32.5%、Al32%、およびCr35.5)を含むスラリーをミキサーで調製した。
顔料を使用しなかったことを除いて、実施例1〜4に従いマルチフィラメント糸を製造した。

Claims (11)
- 超高分子量ポリエチレン(UHMwPE)のフィラメントを含む縫合糸であって、前記縫合糸が、
a)極限粘度(IV)が少なくとも5dl/gであるUHMwPE、紡糸溶媒、および酸化クロムを含む無機顔料を含む混合物を提供するステップと、
b)前記混合物からゲル紡糸法によってマルチフィラメント糸を紡糸するステップと
を含む方法により得られるマルチフィラメント糸を含むことを特徴とする、縫合糸。 - 前記顔料が、アルミニウム−クロム−コバルトオキシドを含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記UHMwPEの極限粘度(IV)が、8〜40dl/gであることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記縫合糸の製造に用いられる最終フィラメント中における顔料の使用量が、0.1〜7.0重量%であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の縫合糸。
- 顔料の使用量が、5.0重量%未満であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の縫合糸。
- 顔料の使用量が、2.0重量%未満であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記UHMwPEのフィラメントがUHMwPE、前記顔料、および1000ppm未満のさらなる構成成分からなることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記UHMwPEのフィラメントを少なくとも50質量%含むことを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記UHMwPEのフィラメントを少なくとも90質量%含むことを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記フィラメントが、残留量が800ppm未満である紡糸溶媒を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の縫合糸。
- 前記フィラメントが、残留量が100ppm未満である紡糸溶媒を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の縫合糸。
