Description
熱可塑性樹脂、導電性フィラー、及び親水性無機集合体を、表1及び表2に記載された含有量で使用して、下記実施例1乃至6及び比較例1乃至7の燃料電池用バイポーラプレートをそれぞれ製造した。
燃料電池用バイポーラプレートの樹脂基材を形成するために、熱可塑性樹脂としてポリフェニレンサルファイド(polyphenylene sulfide:PPS)樹脂を使用した。このようなポリフェニレンサルファイドとして、315.5℃の温度及び窒素雰囲気において測定した零粘度(Zero viscosity)が、300[P]である、Chevron Phillips Chemical(CPC)社のRyton PR−11(登録商標)を使用した。
バイポーラプレートの炭素系導電性フィラーとして、平均直径が100μmである人工のグラファイトを使用した。
マイクロスケールの二酸化チタン粒子の表面に、ナノスケールのカーボンブラック粒子が埋込まれたハイブリッド粒子を含む親水性無機集合体を使用した。ナノスケールのカーボンブラック粒子は、ASTM D3037−89測定法による表面積が70m2/gであり、超音波放射器で超音波を10分加えた後の平均直径が35nmであった。マイクロスケールの二酸化チタン粒子は、J.Phys.Chem.98(1994)1366に記載された方法に応じて、チタニウムテトライソプロポキシドの調節された加水分解から得られ、平均直径5.3μmであった。
Claims (11)
- 親水性複合材により製造され、
前記親水性複合材は、熱可塑性又は熱硬化性樹脂からなる樹脂バインダーと、導電性フィラーと、親水性無機物粒子の表面上にカーボンブラック粒子が埋込まれた構造を有するハイブリッド粒子を含む親水性無機集合体と、を含み、前記親水性無機物は、酸化ジルコニウム、二酸化チタン、二酸化ケイ素、酸化アルミニウム及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。 - 前記カーボンブラック粒子は、前記親水性無機物粒子の1/500〜1/10の直径を有する、請求項1に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 酸化ジルコニウム、二酸化チタン、二酸化ケイ素、酸化アルミニウム及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される親水性無機物粒子の表面上のカーボンブラック粒子に物理的な力を加えることにより、親水性無機物粒子の表面にカーボンブラック粒子が埋込まれたハイブリッド粒子を製造する段階を含む、請求項1または2に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレートの製造方法。
- 前記カーボンブラック粒子は、前記親水性無機物粒子の1/500〜1/10の直径を有する、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記親水性複合材は、前記樹脂バインダー1〜45重量%、前記導電性フィラー50〜98重量%、及び前記親水性無機集合体0.5〜45重量%からなる、請求項1または2に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂は、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリカーボネート、ナイロン、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリウレタン、ポリエステル、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリフェニレンサルファイド、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、前記熱硬化性樹脂は、エポキシ及びフェノール樹脂から選択される、請求項1、2または5に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 前記導電性フィラーは、カーボンブラック、炭素繊維、カーボンナノチューブ、グラファイト、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される炭素系物質である、請求項1、2、5、または6に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 熱可塑性又は熱硬化性樹脂からなる樹脂基材、前記樹脂基材内に分散されている導電性フィラー、及び前記樹脂基材内に分散されている親水性無機集合体、を含み、
前記親水性無機集合体は、親水性無機物粒子の表面上にカーボンブラック粒子が埋込まれた構造を有するハイブリッド粒子を含み、前記親水性無機物は、酸化ジルコニウム、二酸化チタン、二酸化ケイ素、酸化アルミニウム及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。 - 前記カーボンブラック粒子は、前記親水性無機物粒子の1/500〜1/10の直径を有する、請求項8に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 前記熱可塑性樹脂は、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリカーボネート、ナイロン、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリウレタン、ポリエステル、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリフェニレンサルファイド、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、前記熱硬化性樹脂は、エポキシ及びフェノール樹脂から選択される、請求項8または9に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
- 前記導電性フィラーは、カーボンブラック、炭素繊維、カーボンナノチューブ、グラファイト、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、炭素系物質である、請求項8〜10のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池用バイポーラプレート。
