Description
上記課題を解決するために、本発明の光検出装置は、環境光を含む光を受光する第1受光素子と、前記環境光を含む光を受光する第2受光素子と、前記環境光が前記第2受光素子に入射する光路に配置される赤色カラーフィルタとを備える。また、後述する第1及び第2の緑色カラーフィルタや光強度算出回路、さらには第1受光素子と第2受光素子とを接続する配線などを備えていることが好ましい。
上記課題を解決するために、本発明の電気光学装置は、上述した本発明の光検出装置(但し、その各種態様を含む)を備える。
上記課題を解決するために、本発明の電子機器は、上述した本発明の電気光学装置(但し、その各種態様を含む)を備える。
先ず、本実施形態に係る液晶装置の構成について、図1及び図2を参照して説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係る液晶装置の構成を示す平面図であり、図2は、図1のH−H’断面図である。
TFTアレイ基板10上には、外部回路接続端子102と、データ線駆動回路101、走査線駆動回路104、上下導通端子106等とを電気的に接続するための引回配線90が形成されている。
続いて、図3及び図4を参照して、光センサ部130のより具体的な構成について説明する。ここに、図3は、光センサ部130のより具体的な構成を概念的に示す断面図であり、図4は、光センサ部130の周辺の構成を概念的に示すブロック図である。
しかるに、本実施形態に係る液晶装置1によれば、バックライト光やフォトダイオード131及び132自身の温度特性の影響のみならず、人間の目に感知されない近赤外光電流成分(具体的には、環境光の近赤外光電流成分)の影響を排除した受光電流を光センサ部130から光強度算出回路110に対して出力することができる。言い換えれば、フォトダイオード131及び132の夫々が近赤外光成分に対して感度を有している場合であっても、光センサ部130は、人間の目に感知されない近赤外光成分の影響を排除した受光電流(つまり、可視光電流成分)を光強度算出回路110に対して出力することができる。言い換えれば、フォトダイオード131及び132の夫々の個々の分光感度特性が、人間の目の比視感度特性と異なっている場合であっても、光センサ部130全体としての分光感度特性を、人間の目の比視感度特性に相対的に近づけることができる。例えば、周囲の環境(つまり、環境光)が「暗い」と人間の目には感知されている状況では、環境光が相対的に暗いことを示す受光電流を光センサ部130から光強度算出回路110に対して出力することができる。同様に、周囲の環境(つまり、環境光)が相対的に「明るい」と人間の目には感知されている状況では、環境光が相対的に明るいことを示す受光電流を光センサ部130から光強度算出回路110に対して出力することができる。従って、本実施形態に係る液晶装置1によれば、周囲の環境光の光強度を好適に検出することができる。その結果、バックライト141の輝度を好適に調整することができる。
続いて、図8を参照して、本実施形態に係る液晶装置1の第1変形例について説明する。ここに、図8は、第1変形例に係る液晶装置2の光センサ部130のより具体的な構成を概念的に示す断面図である。尚、上述した液晶装置1と同様の構成については、同一の参照符号を付してその詳細な説明については省略する。
続いて、図10を参照して、本実施形態に係る液晶装置1の第2変形例について説明する。ここに、図10は、第2変形例に係る液晶装置3の光センサ部130のより具体的な構成を概念的に示す断面図である。尚、上述した液晶装置1又は液晶装置2と同様の構成については、同一の参照符号を付してその詳細な説明については省略する。
続いて、図11及び図12を参照しながら、上述の液晶装置1を具備してなる電子機器の例を説明する。
Claims (7)
- 環境光を含む光を受光する第1受光素子と、
前記第1受光素子と直列に接続され、前記環境光を含む光を受光する第2受光素子と、
前記第1受光素子と前記第2受光素子とを接続する配線と、
前記環境光が前記第2受光素子に入射する光路に配置される赤色カラーフィルタと、
前記環境光が前記第1受光素子に入射する光路に配置される第1の緑色カラーフィルタと、
前記環境光が前記第2受光素子に入射する光路に配置される第2の緑色カラーフィルタと、
前記配線に流れる電流から、前記第1受光素子における受光結果と前記第2受光素子における受光結果との差分を検出し、検出結果から前記環境光の光強度を算出する検出回路と、
を備え、
前記第2の緑色カラーフィルタは、前記環境光が前記第2受光素子に入射する側から見て前記赤色カラーフィルタの手前側に位置する
ことを特徴とする光検出装置。 - 前記第1及び第2受光素子は、P型の第1半導体層、第2半導体層、及びn型の第3半導体層が接合されたPINダイオードであり、
前記第1受光素子の第1半導体層は、高位電源と電気的に接続されており、
前記第1受光素子の第3半導体層は、前記配線を介して前記第2受光素子の第1半導体層と電気的に接続されており、
前記第2受光素子の第3半導体層は、低位電源と電気的に接続されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光検出装置。 - 前記検出回路は、前記第1受光素子における受光結果と前記第2受光素子における受光結果との差分に基づいて、前記環境光の可視光成分を検出する
ことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の光検出装置。 - 前記第1受光素子及び前記第2受光素子の夫々が低温ポリシリコンプロセスにより基板上に形成された
ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の光検出装置。 - 請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の光検出装置を備える
ことを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 前記電気光学装置に対して光を供給する光源と、
前記第1受光素子における検出結果と前記第2受光素子における検出結果との差分に基づいて、前記光源の光量を制御する調整回路と
を備える
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の電気光学装置。 - 請求項5又は6に記載の電気光学装置を備える
ことを特徴とする電子機器。
