Description
請求項2に記載の発明は、前記第1色及び前記第2色とは異なる第3色に着色されて前記液体中に分散されると共に、帯電特性を持たず前記液体中を浮遊する第3粒子を更に備える。
請求項3に記載の発明は、前記第2粒子が透光性を有する。
請求項4に記載の画像表示装置は、少なくとも一方が透光性を有する一対の基板間に封入される液体と、第1色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記基板間に形成される電界に応じて移動する第1粒子と、前記第1色とは異なる第2色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記第1粒子が凝集した状態で前記第1粒子の間隙を移動する粒径であり、前記第1粒子と同極性で、且つ、移動開始電圧が前記第1粒子の移動開始電圧よりも大きい第2粒子と、を有する画像表示媒体と、前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する電圧印加手段と、を備える。
請求項5に記載の発明は、前記画像表示媒体は、前記第1色及び前記第2色とは異なる第3色に着色されて前記液体中に分散されると共に、帯電特性を持たず前記液体中を浮遊する第3粒子を更に有する。
請求項6に記載の発明は、前記電圧印加手段は、前記第1粒子及び前記第2粒子を前記一対の基板の一方の基板に移動させた後、前記第1粒子を他方の基板に移動させるように、前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する。
請求項7に記載の発明は、前記画像表示媒体の前記第2粒子が透光性を有する。
請求項8に記載の発明は、前記電圧印加手段は、前記第2粒子が、凝集した前記第1粒子の間隙を移動して、前記一対の基板のうち透光性を有する基板側に移動するように、前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する。
請求項2、5に記載の発明によれば、本構成を採用しない場合に比べてカラー表示のコントラストを向上させることができる、という効果がある。
請求項3、7に記載の発明によれば、本構成を採用しない場合に比べて粒子の色と異なる2次色を表示することができる、という効果がある。
請求項6、8に記載の発明によれば、本構成を採用しない場合に比べて混色をより抑制したカラー表示ができる、という効果がある。

Claims (8)
- 少なくとも一方が透光性を有する一対の基板間に封入される液体と、
第1色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記基板間に形成される電界に応じて移動する第1粒子と、
前記第1色とは異なる第2色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記第1粒子が凝集した状態で前記第1粒子の間隙を移動する粒径であり、前記第1粒子と同極性で、且つ、移動開始電圧が前記第1粒子の移動開始電圧よりも大きい第2粒子と、
を備えた画像表示媒体。 - 前記第1色及び前記第2色とは異なる第3色に着色されて前記液体中に分散されると共に、帯電特性を持たず前記液体中を浮遊する第3粒子を更に備えた
請求項1記載の画像表示媒体。 - 前記第2粒子が透光性を有する
請求項1又は請求項2記載の画像表示媒体。 - 少なくとも一方が透光性を有する一対の基板間に封入される液体と、第1色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記基板間に形成される電界に応じて移動する第1粒子と、前記第1色とは異なる第2色に着色されて前記液体中に分散され、前記第1粒子が凝集した状態で前記第1粒子の間隙を移動する粒径であり、前記第1粒子と同極性で、且つ、移動開始電圧が前記第1粒子の移動開始電圧よりも大きい第2粒子と、を有する画像表示媒体と、
前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する電圧印加手段と、
を備えた画像表示装置。 - 前記画像表示媒体は、前記第1色及び前記第2色とは異なる第3色に着色されて前記液体中に分散されると共に、帯電特性を持たず前記液体中を浮遊する第3粒子を更に有する
請求項4記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記電圧印加手段は、前記第1粒子及び前記第2粒子を前記一対の基板の一方の基板に移動させた後、前記第1粒子を他方の基板に移動させるように、前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する
請求項4又は請求項5記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記画像表示媒体の前記第2粒子が透光性を有する
請求項4〜請求項6の何れか1項に記載の画像表示装置。 - 前記電圧印加手段は、前記第2粒子が、凝集した前記第1粒子の間隙を移動して、前記一対の基板のうち透光性を有する基板側に移動するように、前記一対の基板間に電圧を印加する
請求項7記載の画像表示装置。
