Description
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1におけるプラズマディスプレイ装置のPDP10の構造を示す分解斜視図である。第1の基板であるガラス製の前面板20上には、ストライプ状の走査電極22とストライプ状の維持電極23とで対をなす表示電極が複数形成されている。そして走査電極22と維持電極23とを覆うように誘電体層24が形成され、その誘電体層24上に保護層25が形成されている。第2の基板である背面板30上には、走査電極22および維持電極23と立体交差するように、誘電体層33で覆われた複数のストライプ状のデータ電極32が形成されている。誘電体層33上にはデータ電極32と平行に複数の隔壁34が配置され、この隔壁34間の誘電体層33上に蛍光体層35が設けられている。また、データ電極32は隣り合う隔壁34の間に位置するように配置されている。
図10は、本発明の実施の形態2におけるプラズマディスプレイ装置の遷移領域作成部201の電気的構成を示すブロック図である。

Claims (1)
- 入力された映像信号の1フィールドを輝度重みの異なる複数のサブフィールドで構成し各サブフィールドを発光または非発光制御することにより多階調表示する画像表示装置に用いる映像信号処理装置であって、
前記映像信号から動画領域を検出する動画領域検出部と、
周辺の画素に入力される映像信号の誤差拡散処理により拡散される前記周辺の画素の映像信号の誤差を前記映像信号に加算して出力する加算部と、
前記加算部から出力された信号が動きのない静止画領域の場合にはそのまま元の階調値を出力する静止画処理を施す静止画処理部と、
前記加算部から出力された信号が動きのある動画領域の場合には元の階調値を擬似輪郭が発生しにくい動画表示用階調値に変換する動画処理を施す動画処理部と、
前記動画領域検出部の検出結果にもとづき過去から現フレームまでに連続して静止画領域と判例されたフレーム数の情報から静止レベルを作成する遷移領域作成部と、
前記静止レベルにもとづき前記静止画処理部で前記静止画処理を施された映像信号または前記動画処理部で前記動画処理を施された映像信号のいずれかを選択する選択部とを備え、前記選択部は、前記遷移領域作成部の静止レベルが過去に静止画領域と判定されたフレームの数が多いほど前記静止画処理部で静止画処理された映像信号を選択する割合を大きくすることを特徴とする映像信号処理装置。
