Claims (40)
- プロセス制御環境にあるフィールドデバイスと通信する方法であって、
(a)前記フィールドデバイスと通信する前に、該フィールドデバイスのための通信情報をハンドヘルド通信機に取得するために、該ハンドヘルド通信機とリポジトリとの間でワイヤレス通信を行い、
前記通信情報は双方向通信プロトコルを実装することに関連する通信データを規定し、
前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機とフィールドデバイスとの間で双方向ワイヤレス通信を実装するために、前記通信データは有用であり、
前記ハンドヘルド通信機に前記通信情報を記憶し、
(b)前記通信データおよび前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機と前記フィールドデバイスとの間でワイヤレス通信する、
方法。 - (c)前記フィールドデバイスとワイヤレス通信する前に、前記フィールドデバイスを識別する、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - (c)が、前記フィールドデバイスを識別するために、前記フィールドデバイスに関連する無線周波数識別タグを認識することを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- さらに、
(d)(c)の後、前記通信情報を取得するために、リポジトリとワイヤレス通信する、
請求項2に記載の方法。 - (c)が、前記ハンドヘルド通信機を用いて、前記フィールドデバイスを自動的に識別することを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- (a)が、前記フィールドデバイスと通信するために前記ハンドヘルド通信機で表示するための一以上のユーザインターフェイス、前記フィールドデバイスとの通信を規定するデバイス記述、前記フィールドデバイスとの通信に使用する通信プロトコルを格納することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- (b)が、前記フィールドデバイスに情報の送信を要求することと、前記ハンドヘルド通信機内のメモリに要求された該情報を格納することと、を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記フィールドデバイスに関する情報を要求することが、該フィールドデバイスの状態、較正に関するデータ、該フィールドデバイスの製造業者、およびプロセスパラメータ情報の一の送信を要求することを含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- トランシーバノードと通信し、格納され要求された前記情報を配送することをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。

- (b)が、前記フィールドデバイスとは別個であり、ハードワイヤード通信接続を介して前記フィールドデバイスに通信可能に接続されている、無線周波数トランスミッタノードを介して、前記フィールドデバイスと通信することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- (b)が、前記フィールドデバイスとは別個であり、ワイヤレス通信接続を介して前記フィールドデバイスに通信可能に接続されている無線周波数トランスミッタノードを介して、前記フィールドデバイスと通信することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- プロセスプラントに分散した複数のフィールドデバイスを有するプロセス環境において使用するための通信システムであって、
処理ユニット、コンピュータ読取可能メモリ、グラフィックディスプレイユニット、入力デバイス、および第1のワイヤレストランシーバを有するハンドヘルド通信機と、
前記プロセス環境に設けられ、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一と通信可能に結合されている第2のワイヤレストランシーバと、
を備え、
前記ハンドヘルド通信機が、通信情報を記憶するメモリと、該通信情報を用いて、前記第1のワイヤレストランシーバおよび前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバによって複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一と通信するために、前記プロセッサで実行されるように適応された通信ルーチンと、をさらに含み、
(a)前記フィールドデバイスと通信する前に、該フィールドデバイスのための前記通信情報を前記ハンドヘルド通信機に取得するために、該ハンドヘルド通信機とリポジトリとの間でワイヤレス通信を行い、
前記通信情報は双方向通信プロトコルを実装することに関連する通信データを規定し、
前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機と複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一との間で双方向ワイヤレス通信を実装するために、前記通信データは有用であり、
(b)前記通信データおよび前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機と複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一との間でワイヤレス通信する、
通信システム。 - 前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に設けられている、請求項17に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一から離れて設けられ、ハードワイヤード通信接続を介して、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に接続されている、請求項17に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、バスタイプの通信接続を介して、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に接続されている、請求項19に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、ポイント・ツー・ポイントハードワイヤード通信接続を介して、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの一に接続されている、請求項19に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一から離れて設けられ、二次的なワイヤレス通信接続を介して、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に接続されている、請求項17に記載の通信システム。
- 前記第1のワイヤレストランシーバおよび第2のワイヤレストランシーバが、無線周波数トランシーバである、請求項17に記載の通信システム。
- 前記ハンドヘルド通信機が、前記プロセス内に設けられた追加トランスミッタから一以上の信号をワイヤレスで受信するように適応されている二次的なレシーバを含む、請求項17に記載の通信システム。
- 前記二次的なレシーバが赤外線レシーバである、請求項24に記載の通信システム。
- 前記ハンドヘルド通信機が、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一と通信する際に使用するためのメモリに、一以上のユーザインターフェイススクリーンを格納する、請求項17に記載の通信システム。

前記プロセス環境内で一以上の制御または測定作業を実行するための、前記プロセス環境に分散されている複数のフィールドデバイスと、
前記プロセス環境に設けられ、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に通信可能に接続されている第1のワイヤレストランシーバと、
処理ユニット、コンピュータ読取可能メモリ、グラフィックディスプレイユニット、入力デバイス、および第2のワイヤレストランシーバを有するハンドヘルド通信機と、
を備え、
前記ハンドヘルド通信機が、通信情報を記憶するメモリと、該通信情報を用いて、前記第1および第2のワイヤレストランシーバによって、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一と通信するために、前記プロセッサで実行されるように適応されている通信ルーチンと、をさらに含み、
(a)前記フィールドデバイスと通信する前に、該フィールドデバイスのための前記通信情報を前記ハンドヘルド通信機に取得するために、該ハンドヘルド通信機とリポジトリとの間でワイヤレス通信を行い、
前記通信情報は双方向通信プロトコルを実装することに関連する通信データを規定し、
前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機と複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一との間で双方向ワイヤレス通信を実装するために、前記通信データは有用であり、
(b)前記通信データおよび前記双方向通信プロトコルを使用して、前記ハンドヘルド通信機と複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一との間でワイヤレス通信する、
通信システム。 - 前記第1のワイヤレストランシーバが、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの少なくとも一に設けられている、請求項34に記載の通信システム。

- 前記ハンドヘルド通信機が、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの二以上の異なるフィールドデバイスと通信する方法を規定する通信情報の二の異なるセットを格納するように適応されている、請求項35に記載の通信システム。
- 前記通信情報の二の異なるセットの各々が、複数の前記フィールドデバイスの二以上の異なるフィールドデバイスと通信する場合、ユーザによって使用される前記ハンドヘルド通信機のディスプレイユニットで表示される異なるユーザインターフェイスを含む、請求項39に記載の通信システム。
