Description
本出願は、2005年11月1日に出願された米国特許仮出願60/732,828に対する35USC§119(e)の下での優先権の利益を主張する。ここで、その内容の全体は参照により本明細書中に組み入れられる。
本発明は、紙基材に適用するとき、好ましくは、インクジェット印刷に適した高印刷濃度、印刷鮮明度、低HST、および/または、画像乾燥時間を有する基材、同様に、好ましくは、高白色度および低減した色の間のブリードを有する基材を生み出すサイズ剤組成物に関する。また、本発明は、サイズ剤組成物をその少なくとも1つの表面に適用することによって紙基材のHSTを低下させる方法に関する。さらに、本出願は、サイズ剤組成物を製造および使用する方法;および、サイズ剤組成物を含有する紙を製造および使用する方法に関する。
(浸漬したインク面積のOD/未浸漬インク面積のOD)*100=%水堅牢度
を使用して、水堅牢度を自然に計算することができる。
表面にサイズ剤を施していない原紙を処理するために、以下のサイズプレス配合物を調製した。
連量24lb/1300平方フィートを有する紙基材を製造し、その紙基材の両面にサイズプレスでサイズ剤組成物を適用した。紙基材に適用したサイズ剤組成物は、以下の表2に従う組成物である。

Claims (17)
- 少なくとも1種の顔料;
少なくとも1種のポリビニルアルコールバインダー及び少なくとも1種の澱粉バインダー、ここで澱粉/ポリビニルアルコール重量比が10/1〜1/5である;
少なくとも1種の窒素含有有機化学種;
少なくとも1種の無機塩;及び
組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、10〜75wt%の蛍光増白剤
を含むサイズ剤組成物。 - ポリビニルアルコールおよび澱粉が、澱粉/ポリビニルアルコール重量比8/1〜1/1で存在する、請求項1に記載のサイズ剤組成物。
- 総バインダーが、組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも20wt%の量存在する、請求項2に記載のサイズ剤組成物。
- さらに、組成物中の固形物の総重量に基づき、20〜40wt%の蛍光増白剤を含む、請求項2に記載のサイズ剤組成物。
- 蛍光増白剤が、カチオン性である、請求項1に記載のサイズ剤組成物。
- 組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも30wt%の量の少なくとも1種の顔料;
組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、少なくとも20wt%の量の少なくとも2種のバインダー、ここで少なくとも1種のバインダーがポリビニルアルコールであり、少なくとも1種のバインダーが澱粉であり、そして澱粉/ポリビニルアルコール重量比が10/1〜1/5である;
組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、1〜20wt%の範囲の量の少なくとも1種の窒素含有有機化学種;および、
組成物の固形物の総重量に基づき、0.5〜5wt%の範囲の量の少なくとも1種の無機塩;
を含む、請求項1に記載のサイズ剤組成物。 - 澱粉/ポリビニルアルコールの重量比が8/1〜1/1である澱粉およびポリビニルアルコール、;および、
蛍光増白剤を含む、請求項6に記載のサイズ剤組成物。 - 請求項1に記載のサイズ剤組成物を含む紙基材。
- 基材が、印刷濃度少なくとも1.0およびHST10秒以下を有する、請求項8に記載の紙基材。
- 基材が、水堅牢度少なくとも95%を有する、請求項9に記載の紙基材。
- 請求項2に記載のサイズ剤組成物を含む紙基材。
- 基材が、印刷濃度少なくとも1.0およびHST10秒以下を有する、請求項11に記載の紙基材。
- 基材が、水堅牢度少なくとも95%を有する、請求項12に記載の紙基材。
- 請求項6に記載のサイズ剤組成物を含む紙基材。
- 基材が、印刷濃度少なくとも1.0およびHST10秒以下を有する、請求項14に記載の紙基材。
- 基材が、水堅牢度少なくとも95%を有する、請求項15に記載の紙基材。
- 請求項7に記載のサイズ剤組成物を含み、かつ、
印刷濃度少なくとも1.0;
HST10秒以下;および、
水堅牢度少なくとも95%;
を有する紙基材。
