Description
(1)分子内に3乃至40個のエチレングリコール反復基(-CH 2 CH 2 O-)を有するペンタエリスリトールテトラエトキシレート(pentaerythritol tetra-ethoxylate)と、エチレングリコール反復基(-CH 2 CH 2 O-)を有する一般式R-(OCH 2 CH 2 )n-OCH 2 -COOH(但し、式中、Rは、飽和でも不飽和でもよく、また、直鎖でも分岐鎖でもよい炭素数10乃至24個のアルキル基であり、また、nは1乃至10の整数である。)で表されるカルボン酸とを、酸触媒の存在下に還流させてペンタエリスリトール誘導体を合成する段階;
(2)前記段階(1)で合成されたペンタエリスリトール誘導体を精製する段階。
上記の段階(1)でのペンタエリスリトールエトキシレートは、分子内に全体的で3乃至40個のエチレングリコール反復基(-CH 2 CH 2 O-)を有するペンタエリスリトールテトラエトキシレートを挙げることができる。
上記の段階(1)で合成されたペンタエリスリトール誘導体は、無極性溶媒で分液し、不純物を除去することによって精製することができる。
実施例で得られた化合物に対して皮膚内の水分量増加程度を比較した。皮膚内の水分量増加測定実験は、脱毛ギニーピッグ(hairless Guinea pig)50匹を10組みに分けて、実施例で得られた化合物を各組みに分けて測定した。
実施例で得られた化合物に対して乾燥環境においての水分維持力を測定、比較した。
具体的に、実施例で得られた化合物の水分含有量が60%となるように試料を製造し、試料を恒温恒湿装置(18℃、相対湿度20%)に保管しながら時間による重さを測定し、水分含有量の変化を観察することによって、化合物の水分維持力を評価した。その結果を下記表2に示した。
実施例で得られたペンタエリスリトール誘導体を含有する液晶ベースを製造した。液晶ベースは、人体の皮膚に存在する脂質の分析条件に基づいて本発明のペンタエリスリトール誘導体、脂肪酸、コレステロールを適当な組成で混合して製造した。使用した脂肪酸の種類と各成分の含量は、下記表3に示した。
製造例1〜24の液晶ベースにおいて液晶形成可否を偏光顕微鏡を用いて観測した。大部分の化合物において、ラメラ液晶の典型的なクローバー形状を呈する偏光結果を観察することができた。図1乃至図4に代表的な例を示した。
Claims (6)
- (1)分子内に3乃至40個のエチレングリコール反復基(-CH 2 CH 2 O-)を有するペンタエリスリトールテトラエトキシレート(pentaerythritol tetra-ethoxylate)と、エチレングリコール反復基(-CH 2 CH 2 O-)を有する一般式R-(OCH 2 CH 2 )n-OCH 2 -COOH(但し、式中、Rは、飽和でも不飽和でもよく、また、直鎖でも分岐鎖でもよい炭素数10乃至24個のアルキル基であり、また、nは1乃至10の整数である。)で表されるカルボン酸とを、酸触媒の存在下に還流させてペンタエリスリトール誘導体を合成する段階と、
(2)前記段階(1)で合成されたペンタエリスリトール誘導体を精製する段階と、を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のペンタエリスリトール誘導体の製造方法。 - 前記段階(1)で用いるカルボン酸は、炭素数14乃至46個のカルボン酸であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のペンタエリスリトール誘導体の製造方法。
- 前記カルボン酸は、グリコール酸エトキシレートデシルエーテル、グリコール酸エトキシレートラウリルエーテル、グリコール酸エトキシレートテトラデシルエーテル、グリコール酸エトキシレートヘキサデシルエーテル、グリコール酸エトキシレートステアリルエーテル及びグリコール酸エトキシレートオレイルエーテルよりなる群から選ばれたものであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のペンタエリスリトール誘導体の製造方法。
- 脂肪酸及びコレステロールと共に請求項1に記載のペンタエリスリトール誘導体を10〜70重量%の量で含有する組成物であり、ラメラ液晶形成能を有することを特徴とする液晶ベース。
- 請求項1に記載のペンタエリスリトール誘導体を含有する皮膚保湿剤。
