Claims (5)
- 搬送パス上を搬送される用紙の第1の搬送速度を所定位置で第2の搬送速度に変速することにより前記用紙に対する像担持体上の画像の転写位置において前記用紙に対する前記画像の位置合わせを行う位置合わせ手段を備える画像形成装置において、
前記像担持体に位置合わせ用画像を形成する形成手段と、
前記像担持体上の前記位置合わせ用画像を検出して第1の基準信号を生成する位置合わせ用画像センサと、
前記搬送パス上を搬送される用紙の先端を検出して第2の基準信号を生成する用紙検出センサと、を備え、
前記位置合わせ手段は、前記位置合わせ用画像センサが前記第1の基準信号を生成できたときは、前記第1の基準信号に基づいて前記所定位置を決定し、前記位置合わせ用画像センサが前記第1の基準信号を生成できないときは、前記第2の基準信号に基づいて前記所定位置を決定することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記第2の搬送速度は、前記第1の搬送速度より低いことを特徴とする請求項1記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記第2の搬送速度は、画像形成プロセス速度であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記第2の基準信号は、前記像担持体上の前記位置合わせ用画像の検出データの学習値から成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記学習値は、数回のデータの平均値を含むことを特徴とする請求項4記載の画像形成装置。
