Description
一側面において、本発明は、上記プロセスに従って歯科インプラントを処理して、このインプラントの所定の領域に所望の表面トポグラフィーを得ることである。
チタン及びチタン合金
他の金属及びセラミックが歯科インプラントで使用するために提案されてきたが、通常、チタンが使用されている。痕跡量の炭素、鉄、酸素、水素及び窒素を含有する、市販の純粋なチタンが使用される。チタン合金は、市販の純粋グレードのチタンよりも強いので、これらも使用されてきている。通常使用されるチタン合金の一つ、Ti/6A1/4Vは、6重量%のアルミニウムと4重量%のバナジウムとを含み、これを以後、Ti6/4と称することとする。
図1E、及び2C〜E、3A〜E、4A、B及び5A〜Dは、ASTM B348グレード23またはASTM F136によって定義された、Ti6/4 E.L.I.合金で試験した数種の酸の結果を示す。それぞれの場合において、インプラントには、その表面上の自然酸化膜を除去するためにフッ化水素酸溶液での同一処理を施した。特に、このインプラントは、室温で8.45重量%のフッ化水素酸に浸漬した。図1E、及び2C〜E、3A〜E、4A、B及び5A〜Dに示したエッチングプロセスの結果は、図1Cの、19.55重量%の塩酸と72.29重量%の硫酸との初期混合物で、60〜70℃で7分間の酸処理により市販の純粋なチタン金属に製造したOsseotite(登録商標)表面と比較することができる。
本発明のエッチングプロセスは、種々の歯科インプラントの表面を製造するのに使用することができる。典型例を図6に示す。インプラント10を患者の骨に予め開けた穴に設置して、不足している歯根を置き換える。このねじ部分12は骨とかみ合い、上部14の少なくともいくらかは組織と接触する。多くの場合、このエッチングプロセスをインプラント10のこのねじ部分12に適用し、義歯部分とネック部分18とをかみ合わせるためのヘッド部分16を含めるための図6に示されている上部14は、比較的平滑なままにする。時には、粗面領域をネック及びヘッド領域の上方、またはインプラント10の上部にさえも伸張させることができる。別の場合には、ねじ部分だけを粗面化させて骨と金属との一体化を改善し、ねじ部分領域の上部は比較的平滑なままにする。
Claims (15)
- 生体の骨と接触させるためにTi6/4合金上に均一に粗面を製造する方法であって、
(a)前記Ti6/4合金から自然酸化膜を除去して金属を露出させ;
(b)露出させた前記金属と、約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との第1水溶液とを好適な時間、接触させて、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出すことを含み、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である、前記方法。 - 粗面が約1〜3μmの山から山までの距離をもつ、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記自然酸化膜は、前記Ti6/4合金とフッ化水素酸の第2水溶液とを、好適な時間、接触させることにより除去する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記第2水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記第1水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と、約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 生体の骨と接触させるためにTi6/4合金上に均一に粗面を製造する方法であって、
(a)前記Ti合金とフッ化水素酸の水溶液とを好適な時間、接触させることにより、前記Ti合金から自然酸化膜を除去して金属を露出させ;
(b)(a)で前記自然酸化膜を除去した後に、この合金を濯ぎ;
(c)露出させた前記金属を約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との水溶液に室温で好適な時間、接触させて、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出し、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である;
(d)段階(c)で製造した表面を濯いで、残存する(c)の水溶液を除去することを含む、前記方法。 - 段階(a)の前記水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 段階(a)の前記水溶液が約8.45重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 段階(c)の前記水溶液が約0.053〜0.105重量%のフッ化水素酸と約19〜21重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項6〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 段階(c)の前記水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 生体の骨と接触させるためのTi6/4合金の歯科インプラントであって、
a.義歯部分を埋め込むためのヘッド部分と;
b.前記生体の骨とかみ合わせるためのねじ部分と;
c.前記ヘッド部分と前記ねじ部分との間に配置されたネック部分とを含み、ここで前記ねじ部分の少なくとも一部は、約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との第1水溶液で前記ねじ部分をエッチングすることにより作り出した10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ所望の粗面トポグラフィーをもち、フッ化水素酸を含有する第2水溶液を用いて前記エッチングをする前に前記ねじ部分から自然酸化膜を除去する、前記歯科インプラント。 - 第2水溶液がフッ化水素酸と塩酸とを含有する、請求項11に記載の歯科インプラント。
- 前記第2水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項11または12に記載の歯科インプラント。
- 前記第1水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と、約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項11〜13のいずれかに記載の歯科インプラント。
- 生体の骨に接触させるためにTi6/4合金の均一な粗面を製造する方法であって、
a.前記Ti6/4合金から自然酸化膜を除去して露出金属表面をつくり;次いで
b.露出した前記金属表面をケラー液でエッチングして、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出すことを含み、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である前記方法。
