Description

図3A〜3Eは、自然酸化膜をHF溶液で除去し、次いでケラー溶液を、先に使用した61℃でではなく周囲温度でエッチングに使用した際に得られた結果を示す。このプロセスは、Ti6/4合金のいくつかのサンプルに図1Cと似た表面を提供し得るが、その他のものでは提供できないことが知見された(図3Dと図3Eとを比較されたい)。このサンプルの差は、機械加工または合金熱処理(alloy heat)(すなわち、チタン合金の特定のバッチに関連する条件)に関連しているようであった。従って、追加の実験を実施した。しかし、Ti6/4合金の品質を制御できるならば、ケラー溶液を使用するエッチングも有用であろうことが結論づけられた。

Claims (15)

  1. 生体の骨と接触させるためにTi6/4合金上に均一に粗面を製造する方法であって、
    (a)前記Ti6/4合金から自然酸化膜を除去して金属を露出させ;
    (b)露出させた前記金属と、約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との第1水溶液とを好適な時間、接触させて、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出すことを含み、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である、前記方法。
  2. 粗面が約1〜3μmの山から山までの距離をもつ、請求項1に記載の方法。
  3. 前記自然酸化膜は、前記Ti6/4合金とフッ化水素酸の第2水溶液とを、好適な時間、接触させることにより除去する、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
  4. 前記第2水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
  5. 前記第1水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と、約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。
  6. 生体の骨と接触させるためにTi6/4合金上に均一に粗面を製造する方法であって、
    (a)前記Ti合金とフッ化水素酸の水溶液とを好適な時間、接触させることにより、前記Ti合金から自然酸化膜を除去して金属を露出させ;
    (b)(a)で前記自然酸化膜を除去した後に、この合金を濯ぎ;
    (c)露出させた前記金属を約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との水溶液に室温で好適な時間、接触させて、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出し、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である;
    (d)段階(c)で製造した表面を濯いで、残存する(c)の水溶液を除去することを含む、前記方法。
  7. 段階(a)の前記水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
  8. 段階(a)の前記水溶液が約8.45重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
  9. 段階(c)の前記水溶液が約0.053〜0.105重量%のフッ化水素酸と約19〜21重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項6〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。
  10. 段階(c)の前記水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
  11. 生体の骨と接触させるためのTi6/4合金の歯科インプラントであって、
    a.義歯部分を埋め込むためのヘッド部分と;
    b.前記生体の骨とかみ合わせるためのねじ部分と;
    c.前記ヘッド部分と前記ねじ部分との間に配置されたネック部分とを含み、ここで前記ねじ部分の少なくとも一部は、約0.005〜1.0重量%フッ化水素酸と約10〜30重量%塩酸との第1水溶液で前記ねじ部分をエッチングすることにより作り出した10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ所望の粗面トポグラフィーをもち、フッ化水素酸を含有する第2水溶液を用いて前記エッチングをする前に前記ねじ部分から自然酸化膜を除去する、前記歯科インプラント。
  12. 第2水溶液がフッ化水素酸と塩酸とを含有する、請求項11に記載の歯科インプラント。
  13. 前記第2水溶液が約7.9〜9.0重量%のフッ化水素酸を含む、請求項11または12に記載の歯科インプラント。
  14. 前記第1水溶液が約0.0845重量%のフッ化水素酸と、約20重量%の塩酸とを含む、請求項11〜13のいずれかに記載の歯科インプラント。
  15. 生体の骨に接触させるためにTi6/4合金の均一な粗面を製造する方法であって、
    a.前記Ti6/4合金から自然酸化膜を除去して露出金属表面をつくり;次いで
    b.露出した前記金属表面をケラー液でエッチングして、所望の表面トポグラフィーを作り出すことを含み、当該所望の表面トポグラフィーが10μm未満の山から谷までの高さの不規則性を持つ粗面である前記方法。
