反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン673質量部、シュウ酸5.6質量部を仕込み、約60分を要して還流させ、そのまま180分間反応させた後、水と未反応のフェノールを留去することによって、軟化点が99℃の固形のノボラック型フェノール樹脂を得た。

ヘキサメチレンテトラミンを添加しないようにした他は、実施例2と同様にして混練することによって、湿潤状態の混練物(胚土C)を得た。この胚土Cに用いた配合で、フェノール樹脂、2−フルアルデヒド及びキシレンスルホン酸を混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は53.9質量%であった。
ヘキサメチレンテトラミンを添加せず、ノボラック型フェノール樹脂と2−フルアルデヒドの反応触媒としてキシレンスルホン酸0.3質量部及びアミン化合物のトリエチレンテトラミン0.3質量部を用いるようにした他は、実施例2と同様にして混練することによって、湿潤状態の混練物(胚土D)を得た。この胚土Dに用いた配合で、フェノール樹脂、2−フルアルデヒド、キシレンスルホン酸及びトリエチレンテトラミンを混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は56.4質量%であった。
反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン1217質量部をとり、これに触媒として25質量%濃度のアンモニア水溶液を80質量部加え、60分を要して還流させ、そのまま90分間反応を行なった。その後、直ちに13300Paの減圧下で100℃まで脱液し、半固体状のレゾール型フェノール樹脂を得た。
反応触媒(50質量%濃度の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液)を用いないようにした他は、実施例1と同様にして湿潤状態の混練物(杯土F)を得た。この杯土Fに用いた配合でフェノール樹脂、ヘキサメチレンテトラミン、2−フルアルデヒドを混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は46.3質量%であった。
反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン632質量部、シュウ酸5.6質量部を仕込み、約60分を要して還流させ、そのまま180分間反応させた後、水と未反応のフェノールを留去することによって、軟化点が93℃の固形のノボラック型フェノール樹脂を得た。
反応触媒(キシレンスルホン酸)を用いないようにした他は、実施例2と同様にして湿潤状態の混練物(杯土H)を得た。この杯土Hに用いた配合でフェノール樹脂、ヘキサメチレンテトラミン、2−フルアルデヒドを混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は45.3質量%であった。
反応触媒(キシレンスルホン酸)を用いないようにした他は、実施例3と同様にして湿潤状態の混練物(杯土I)を得た。この杯土Iに用いた配合でフェノール樹脂、2−フルアルデヒドを混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は25.3質量%であった。
(比較例5)
反応触媒(キシレンスルホン酸、トリエチレンテトラミン)を用いないようにした他は、実施例4と同様にして湿潤状態の混練物(杯土J)を得た。この杯土Jに用いた配合でフェノール樹脂、2−フルアルデヒドを混合したものについてJIS K 6910(1999)に準拠して測定した固定炭素量は25.4質量%であった。
Claims (4)
- 耐火骨材に、フェノール樹脂と、2−フルアルデヒドと、フェノール樹脂と2−フルアルデヒドを反応させる反応触媒とを含有して形成されるバインダー成分が配合されて成り、上記反応触媒が、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、あるいはアミン化合物、あるいは酸から選ばれる一種以上のものであると共に、上記アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の水酸化物、炭酸塩、酸化物は、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化リチウム、水酸化カルシウム、水酸化マグネシウム、水酸化バリウム、炭酸ナトリウム、炭酸カルシウム、酸化バリウム、酸化カルシウムから選ばれるものであり、上記アミン化合物は、ジメチルアミン、トリエチルアミン、ブチルアミン、ジブチルアミン、トリブチルアミン、ジエチレントリアミン、ジシアンジアミド、エチレンジアミン、トリエチレンテトラミン、トリエタノールアミン、N.N−ジメチルベンジルアミン、アニリン、1,5−ナフタレンジアミン、アンモニアから選ばれるものであり、上記酸は、塩酸、硫酸、リン酸、シュウ酸、マレイン酸、無水マレイン酸、コハク酸、安息香酸、パラトルエンスルホン酸、ベンゼンスルホン酸、キシレンスルホン酸から選ばれるものであることを特徴とする耐火物組成物。
- 耐火骨材として、少なくとも炭素質材料が配合されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の耐火物組成物。
- 反応触媒として、上記のアルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、あるいは酸から選ばれる一種以上のものと、上記のアミン化合物とを併用することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の耐火物組成物。
- 請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物が、熱処理して形成されて成ることを特徴とする耐火物。
