Description
反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン673質量部、シュウ酸5.6質量部を仕込み、約60分を要して還流させ、そのまま180分間反応させた後、水と未反応のフェノールを留去した、そしてこれを粉砕して粒径100μm以下の粉末にすることによって、軟化点が99℃の固形のノボラック型フェノール樹脂Aを得た。
フェノール樹脂の硬化剤としてのヘキサメチレンテトラミンを使用しなかった他は、参考例と同様にして杯土を得た。この杯土について参考例と同様にして、固定炭素量、一日後及び一週間後の揮発分、かさ比重、曲げ強さを測定し、その結果を表1に示した。

反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン567質量部、シュウ酸5.6質量部を仕込み、約60分を要して還流させ、そのまま180分間反応させた後、水と未反応のフェノールを留去することによって、軟化点が80℃の固形のノボラック型フェノール樹脂を得た。
フェノール樹脂の硬化剤としてのヘキサメチレンテトラミンを使用しなかった他は、実施例5と同様にして杯土を得た。この杯土について参考例と同様にして、固定炭素量、一日後及び一週間後の揮発分、かさ比重、曲げ強さを測定し、その結果を表1に示した。
反応容器にフェノール940質量部、37質量%ホルマリン1217質量部をとり、これに触媒として20質量%濃度のカセイソーダ水溶液を60質量部加え、60分を要して還流させ、そのまま90分間反応を行なった。その後、直ちに13300Paの減圧下で100℃まで脱液し、半固体状のレゾール型フェノール樹脂を得た。
フェノール樹脂の硬化剤としてのヘキサメチレンテトラミンを使用しなかった他は、実施例7と同様にして杯土を得た。この杯土について参考例と同様にして、固定炭素量、一日後及び一週間後の揮発分、かさ比重、曲げ強さを測定し、その結果を表1に示した。
上記の参考例、実施例1〜7において、反応触媒を使用しないようにした他は、参考例、実施例1〜7と同様にして、比較例1〜8の混練物(杯土)を得た。この比較例1〜8の杯土について参考例と同様にして、固定炭素量、一日後及び一週間後の揮発分、かさ比重、曲げ強さを測定し、その結果を表1に示した。
Claims (9)
- 耐火骨材に、バインダー成分として、フェノール樹脂、タール・ピッチ類、大気圧における沸点が130℃以上である環状化合物、及びフェノール樹脂とタール・ピッチ類と環状化合物とを反応させる反応触媒が配合され、反応触媒は、アルカリ金属又はアルカリ土類金属の酸化物、水酸化物、炭酸塩、あるいはアミン化合物、無機酸、カルボン酸から選ばれる1種以上のものであることを特徴とする耐火物組成物。
- 耐火骨材として、少なくとも炭素質材料が配合されて成ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の耐火物組成物。
- タール・ピッチ類は、軟化点が50〜350℃のものであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の耐火物組成物。
- 環状化合物は、25℃における蒸気圧が13.3hPa以下のものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物。
- 環状化合物は、複素環式化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物。
- 複素環式化合物は、側鎖に−CHOと−CH2OHの少なくとも一方を有するものであることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の耐火物組成物。
- 反応触媒は、耐火骨材にバインダー成分のフェノール樹脂、タール・ピッチ類、環状化合物を配合する際に、同時に配合されるものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物。
- 反応触媒は、フェノール樹脂、タール・ピッチ類、環状化合物の少なくとも一つと予め混合された状態で、配合されるものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物。
- 反応触媒は、フェノール樹脂、タール・ピッチ類、環状化合物の3成分と予め混合された状態で、配合されるものであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の耐火物組成物。
