Description
Claims (9)
- コネクタであって、
相手側コネクタと係合するための嵌合面と、コネクタを回路基板に取付けるための取付面とを備える絶縁性のハウジングと、
ハウジング内に支持された複数の導電性の端子とを有し、
端子は、各組が少なくとも一対の差動信号端子と一対の接地端子とから成る複数の組を構成するように配置され、各端子は、コネクタの嵌合面に沿って延在するコンタクト部と、コネクタの取付面に沿って延在するテール部と、コンタクト部とテール部とを相互接続する本体部とを備え、差動信号端子の対は、コンタクト部においては、側面容量結合が起こるように、前記差動信号端子の対の前記コンタクト部の側面同士が対向するように配置され、テール部においては、縁部容量結合が起こるように、前記差動信号端子の対の前記テール部の縁同士が対向するように配置されているコネクタ。 - 前記差動信号端子の対は絶縁性のウェハによって支持され、前記接地端子の対は2枚の他の絶縁性のウェハによって支持され、1枚のウェハは前記接地端子の対の片方を支持し、接地端子のウェハは差動信号端子のウェハに隣接してその外側に配置されている、請求項1に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記差動信号端子のウェハは第一及び第二の半体を含み、第一の半体は前記差動信号端子の対の一方の端子を支持し、第二の半体は前記差動信号端子の対の他方の端子を支持し、前記第一及び第二の半体は、前記差動信号端子同士を前記差動信号端子のウェハに対して幅方向に離間させている、請求項2に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記端子のテール部はコンプライアントピン部である、請求項3に記載のコネクタ。
- 更に第二の接地端子の対を含み、前記接地端子のテール部は、コネクタの下から見て仮想線で接地端子のテール部を相互接続したときに特定の幾何学的形状を画定し、前記差動信号端子の対のテール部は前記幾何学的形状の境界の中に配置されている、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記幾何学的形状は四角形である、請求項5に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記第一及び第二の半体の各々は、コネクタの取付面に沿って交互に配置された複数の歯部及び切欠部を含み、歯部及び切欠部は、前記第一の半体の歯部が前記第二の半体の切欠部に収容され前記第二の半体の歯部が前記第一の半体の切欠部に収容されるように互いに嵌るように配置されている、請求項6に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記差動信号端子のテール部は前記歯部内に保持され、前記差動信号端子の対の一方の端子のテール部は前記第一の半体の歯部内に保持され、前記差動信号端子の対の他方の端子のテール部は前記第二の半体の歯部内に保持されている、請求項7に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記第一及び第二の半体内には、前記端子の表面を空気に露出させるチャネルが形成され、これにより、前記差動信号端子の対の端子間にエアポケットが形成されている、請求項8に記載のコネクタ。
