Description
マンガン酸リチウム(LiMn2O4で表される組成のうち、Liが過剰であるとともに、Mnの一部がTiで置換されたもの)スピネルを正極活物質とし、これに導電助剤としてアセチレンブラックを外比で4質量%添加したものに、更に溶剤、バインダを加えて調製した正極スラリーを、厚さ20μmのアルミニウム箔の両面にそれぞれ約50μmの厚みとなるように塗工して、厚さ約120μmの正極板を作製した。
ニッケル酸リチウム(LiNiO2で表される組成のうち、Niの一部がCo及びAlで置換されたもの)スピネルを正極活物質として用いたこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法でリチウム二次電池(実施例2)を製造した。更に、実施例1と同様の過充電試験を行った。
捲回型内部電極体を作製する芯体として、孔が形成されていない従来の芯体を用いたこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法でリチウム二次電池(比較例1)を製造した。更に、実施例1と同様の過充電試験を行った。
捲回型内部電極体を作製する芯体として、孔が形成されていない従来の芯体を用いたこと以外は、実施例2と同様の方法でリチウム二次電池(比較例2)を製造した。更に、実施例1と同様の過充電試験を行った。
Claims (13)
- 金属箔体を構成要素として含んでなる電極板を有し、前記電極板が捲回又は積層されてなる内部電極体と、
前記内部電極体を収納する電池ケースと、を備えたリチウム二次電池であって、
前記内部電極体の内部で発生したガスによって前記電池ケースの内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
前記ガスが前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得るガス放出流路が、上昇した前記内部圧力の作用により前記内部電極体の変形を伴って形成され、且つ前記変形が、前記金属箔体の予め設計された所定の箇所が破れて破孔が形成されるものであるリチウム二次電池。 - 前記ガス放出流路の少なくとも一部が、前記内部電極体の前記電極板の捲回又は積層面に対して鉛直方向に、前記内部電極体の内部に形成される請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記内部電極体が、前記電極板が捲回又は積層される芯体を更に有するものである請求項1又は2に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記芯体の形状が、所定の内部空間を有するとともに前記内部空間に連通する一以上の貫通孔が形成された形状であり、
前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって前記金属箔体の前記貫通孔に近接する部分が破れて破孔が形成され、
前記ガスが、前記破孔、前記貫通孔、及び前記内部空間を通じて前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得る前記ガス放出流路が形成される請求項3に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記芯体には、一以上の溝部が、少なくとも一の端部まで形成されており、
前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって、前記金属箔体の前記溝部に近接する部分が破れて破孔が形成され、
前記ガスが、前記破孔、及び前記溝部を通じて前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得る前記ガス放出流路が形成される請求項3に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記芯体が、中空部を有する二以上の芯体要素が、それぞれの間に所定間隔の隙間部が形成されるとともに、前記中空部が相互に連通するように配設されてなるものであり、
前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって前記金属箔体の前記隙間部に近接する部分が破れて破孔が形成され、
前記ガスが、前記破孔、前記隙間部、及び前記中空部を通じて前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得る前記ガス放出流路が形成される請求項3に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記内部電極体と前記電池ケースの間に、所定の内部空間を有するとともに前記内部空間に連通する一以上の貫通孔が形成された第一の外装体を更に備え、
前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって前記金属箔体の前記貫通孔に近接する部分が破れて破孔が形成され、
前記ガスが、前記破孔、前記貫通孔、及び前記内部空間を通じて前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得る前記ガス放出流路が形成される請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記電池ケースの耐圧強度(F1)と、
前記金属箔体の、前記破孔が形成される部分の耐圧強度(F2)が、
F2<F1の関係を満たす請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって、前記内部電極体が前記電極板の厚み方向に膨張変形するとともに、隣接する前記電極板どうしの間に空間部が形成され、
前記ガスが、前記空間部を通じて前記電池ケースの外部へと放出され得る前記ガス放出流路が形成される請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記内部電極体と前記電池ケースの間に、所定の圧力で変形可能な第二の外装体を更に備え、
前記内部圧力が所定以上に上昇した場合に、
上昇した前記内部圧力の作用によって、前記第二の外装体が変形し、前記内部電極体が前記電極板の厚み方向に膨張変形する請求項9に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記電池ケースは放圧機構を備えてなり、
前記ガス放出流路の末端が、前記放圧機構に連通する請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池。 - 前記芯体の形状が円筒状であり、全体形状が円柱状である請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池。
- 前記芯体の形状が中空板状であり、全体形状が角柱状である請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池。
