本出願は、2001年7月26日に出願されて「生体内撮像装置において照明または撮像器の利得を制御するための装置および方法(APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ILLUMINATION OR IMAGER GAIN IN AN IN-VIVO IMAGING DEVICE)」と題された先行の米国仮出願第60/307,603号から利益を請求する。
体内の通路または空洞を生体内で撮像するための装置および方法が、当該技術において公知である。このような装置は、特に、さまざまな内部の体腔において撮像を行なうためのさまざまな内視鏡的撮像システムおよび装置を含み得る。

持続時間を減少させて、動く物体または像の画像の不鮮明さを防止することと幾分似ていると考えられるが、この発明の実施例では一般にシャッタが存在せず、照明期間が制御可能な態様で短縮されて、装置がGI管内を移動することによる画像の不鮮明さを低減するという点が異なる。

- 光源と、

コントローラとを含み、
前記コントローラが、1秒当たり2ないし8フレームを生じさせる撮像期間であって、各撮像期間が照明期間と暗い期間とを有する複数の撮像期間にわたって、前記光源を動作させ、前記撮像装置に反射した反射された光量を記録し、かつ一定量の光が記録されたとき前記光源をオフするように制御するようになっている、生体内撮像装置。 - 前記光源は、LEDを含む、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 前記撮像器は、CMOSである、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 反射光を検知する光センサを有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 送信機を含む、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 前記光源は、複数の個別の光源を含み、前記コントローラは、1つ以上の前記個別の光源の動作を制御するように構成される、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 複数の個別の光センサを含む光センサを含み、該各々の光センサは、複数の個別の光源の中の光源と対にされ、前記コントローラは、光センサと光源との対の各々に対し、その対にされた光センサからの信号に基づいて、前記光源の動作を制御するように構成される、請求項6に記載の生体内撮像装置。
- 前記コントローラは、前記光源をオンまたはオフに切り替えるか、または前記光源の光の強度を変化させるように構成される、請求項1に記載の生体内撮像装置。
