Description
図5は本発明の一実施形態の加熱装置を定着装置として用いた画像形成装置の断面図である。本実施形態の加熱装置は、ローラ加熱方式の電磁誘導加熱装置である。以下にこの装置の構成と動作を説明する。
本実施の形態2が実施の形態1と異なるのは電磁誘導発熱ローラ21の構成のみである。図6Aは図5の画像形成装置に用いられる、本発明の実施の形態2の電磁誘導発熱ローラの断面図、図6Bは図6Aにおける部分6Bの拡大断面図である。図6A、図6Bにおいて実施の形態1と同一の機能を有する部材には同一の符号を付してそれらについての詳細な説明を省略する。
本実施の形態3が実施の形態1と異なるのは電磁誘導発熱ローラ21の磁気シールド層の構成のみである。図7Aは本発明の実施の形態3の電磁誘導発熱ローラの、磁気シールド層を備えた芯材24の概略斜視図である。
本実施の形態4が実施の形態1と異なるのは、電磁誘導発熱ローラ21の発熱層22の構成のみである。本実施の形態の発熱層22は、例えば特開平11−288190号公報に開示されているように、Ni、Fe、Co、Cu、Cr、ステンレス鋼などの金属からなる。このような金属材料を薄肉(例えば厚み40μm)のエンドレスベルト状(チューブ状)に成形して、弾性層23の外周に被せる。この場合、発熱層22は弾性層23に接着しても良いし、嵌め合わせておくだけでも良い。
図8は本発明の一実施形態の加熱装置を定着装置として用いた画像形成装置の断面図である。本実施形態の加熱装置は、ベルト加熱方式の電磁誘導加熱装置である。以下にこの装置の構成と動作を説明する。
図8に示した画像形成装置の定着装置126として使用される本発明の実施の形態6の加熱装置を実施例とともに詳細に説明する。
Claims (6)
- 内側から外側に向かって、芯材と、発泡体からなる弾性層と、表皮深さ以下の厚さを有する誘導発熱層と、離型層とをこの順番に備える電磁誘導発熱ローラであって、
前記芯材が非磁性金属からなり、かつ、
前記芯材の外周面に、前記芯材への磁束の進入を防止する、固有抵抗が10 -3 Ωcm以上の磁気シールド層を備えることを特徴とする電磁誘導発熱ローラ。 - 前記芯材が中実の非磁性のステンレス材からなる請求項1に記載の電磁誘導発熱ローラ。
- 前記磁気シールド層は前記芯材の表面に並べて配置された複数のリング又は円弧状部材からなる請求項1に記載の電磁誘導発熱ローラ。
- 請求項1に記載の電磁誘導発熱ローラと、
前記電磁誘導発熱ローラが圧接されてニップ部を形成する加圧ローラと、
磁場を作用させて前記電磁誘導発熱ローラの前記誘導発熱層を誘導発熱させる磁場発生手段とを有し、
前記ニップ部に導入された被加熱材を前記電磁誘導発熱ローラと前記加圧ローラとで加圧搬送することにより前記被加熱材を連続的に加熱することを特徴とする加熱装置。 - 誘導発熱層を有する電磁誘導発熱ベルトと、
前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトに内接し、前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトを回転可能に支持する、芯材及びその外側の断熱層からなる支持ローラと、
前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトに外接し、前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトとの間にニップ部を形成する加圧ローラと、
前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトの外側に配置され、磁場を作用させて前記誘導発熱層を誘導発熱させる磁場発生手段とを有し、
前記ニップ部に導入された被加熱材を前記電磁誘導発熱ベルトと前記加圧ローラとで加圧搬送することにより前記被加熱材を連続的に加熱する加熱装置であって、
前記芯材が非磁性金属からなり、かつ、
前記支持ローラは前記芯材の外周面に前記芯材への磁束の進入を防止する、固有抵抗が10 -3 Ωcm以上の磁気シールド層を備えることを特徴とする加熱装置。 - 被記録材上にトナー像を形成する画像形成手段と、
請求項5に記載の加熱装置とを備え、
前記画像形成手段が前記被記録材上に形成した未定着のトナー像を前記加熱装置が前記被記録材上に定着させることを特徴とする画像形成装置。
