Description
また請求項2に係る発明の構成上の特徴は、請求項1において、改質部の内部に軸線に沿って延在する改質部折り返し流路を備えたことである。
また、燃焼ガス流路の折り返し流路と改質部との間において熱交換が行われ、外周流路と蒸発部との間において熱交換が行われており、そして、その蒸発部の外周に一酸化炭素低減部が設けられている。これにより、外周流路(燃焼ガス)から外方に向けて放出されている熱が蒸発部を通って同蒸発部の外周壁から外方に放出されるのが抑制されて、改質装置の熱効率低下を防止することができ、ひいては燃料電池システムの発電効率を高く維持することができる。
また、上記のように構成した請求項2に係る発明においては、燃焼ガス流路の折り返し流路と改質部折り返し流路との間において熱交換を行うことができる。
以下、本発明による改質装置の第1の実施の形態を適用した燃料電池システムについて説明する。図1はこの燃料電池システムの概要を示す概要図である。この燃料電池システムは、燃料電池10と燃料電池10に必要な水素ガスを生成して供給する改質装置20を備えている。燃料電池10の燃料極には一酸化炭素浄化部(以下、CO浄化部という。)90から改質ガスが供給され、燃料電池10の空気極には外部からの空気が供給され、燃料電池10において改質ガス中の水素ガスと空気中の酸素ガスとが反応して発電するようになっている。
次に、本発明による改質装置の第2の実施の形態を適用した燃料電池システムについて説明する。図2は第2の実施の形態にかかる燃料電池システムの概要を示す概要図である。本第2の実施の形態は、上述した第1の実施の形態と同様に、改質部、冷却部、COシフト部、燃焼部、燃焼ガス流路、断熱部、蒸発部およびCO浄化部から構成されているが、主としてCOシフト部の取り付け場所および構造が異なっている。なお、第1の実施の形態と同一の構成部材については同一符号を付してその説明を省略する。
次に、本発明による改質装置の第3の実施の形態を適用した燃料電池システムについて説明する。図3は第3の実施の形態にかかる燃料電池システムの概要を示す概要図である。本第3の実施の形態は、上述した第2の実施の形態と同様に、改質部、冷却部、COシフト部、燃焼部、燃焼ガス流路、断熱部、蒸発部およびCO浄化部から構成されているが、主としてCO浄化部の取り付け場所および構造が異なっている。なお、第2の実施の形態と同一の構成部材については同一符号を付してその説明を省略する。

- 請求項1または請求項2において、前記外周流路は、前記改質部の外周壁に沿う第1流路と、該第1流路の外周に設けられた同第1流路と連通する第2流路を備え、
前記第2流路の外周壁に前記蒸発部を設け、該蒸発部の外周壁に前記一酸化炭素低減部を設けたことを特徴とする改質装置。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項において、互いに隣接する前記燃焼ガス流路の前記燃焼ガスと前記蒸発部の水または水蒸気は並流であることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項において、互いに隣接する前記蒸発部の前記水または水蒸気と前記一酸化炭素低減部の改質ガスは並流であることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項において、互いに隣接する前記燃焼ガス流路の前記燃焼ガスと前記蒸発部の水または水蒸気は向流であることを特徴とする改質装置。
- 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項において、互いに隣接する前記蒸発部の前記水または水蒸気と前記一酸化炭素低減部の改質ガスは向流であることを特徴とする改質装置。
