Abstract
Description
-短い作業ウィンドウ。反応性がより高く、硬化速度が速いため、作業ウィンドウが短くなり、つまり、接着剤は準備後できるだけ早く使い切る必要がある。場合によっては、そのような短い作業ウィンドウに対応するために、新しい機器および作業プロセスの再設計に追加の投資が必要になるであろう。
-高コスト。ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート(MDI)またはヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート(HDI)系ポリイソシアネート原料は、PF/UF系接着剤パッケージよりも高価である。
(a)アクリルポリマーの水性エマルジョンと、
(b)脂肪族イソシアネート架橋剤(複数可)と、を含む、ホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物を提供し、
該アクリルポリマーは、少なくとも1つの官能基を担持する1つ以上のエチレン性不飽和モノマーの少なくとも1つの構造単位を有し、該アクリルポリマーは、-45℃~0℃のガラス転移温度を有する。
(a)本開示によるホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物を提供することと、
(b)2層以上の木材を提供することと、
(c)ホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物を、該2層以上の木材のうちの1つまたは2つの表面上に適用することと、
(d)2層以上の木材を重ね、重ねた2層以上の木材を室温でプレスすることと、
(e)重ねた2層以上の木材を50~200℃の高温でプレスすることと、を含む、合板を生成するための方法を提供する。
アクリルポリマーの水性エマルジョンは、フリーラジカル乳化もしくは懸濁付加重合を介して、または剪断下で予め形成されたポリマーを水性媒体に分散させることによって調製され得る。アクリルポリマーの調製に好適なモノマーには、(メタ)アクリル酸および(メタ)アクリレート、例えば、アルキル(メタ)アクリレートが含まれるが、これらに限定されない。アルキル(メタ)アクリレートの例は、メチルアクリレート、エチルアクリレート、ブチルアクリレート、グリシジルメタクリレート、2-エチルヘキシルアクリレート、メチルメタクリレート、エチルメタクリレート、ブチルメタクリレート、および2-エチルヘキシルメタクリレート、ならびにそれらの組み合わせであるが、これらに限定されない。
脂肪族イソシアネート架橋剤(複数可)は、少なくとも2つのイソシアネート官能基を有する脂肪族親水性修飾架橋剤(複数可)である。好ましくは、少なくとも2つのイソシアネート官能基を有する脂肪族親水性修飾架橋剤(複数可)は、親水性修飾HDIプレポリマーであり、より好ましくは、脂肪族イソシアネート架橋剤(複数可)は、親水性修飾ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート三量体である。脂肪族イソシアネート架橋剤(複数可)の好適な例には、CovestroからのBayhydur XP2487/1およびWanhua Chemicals Co.,Ltd.からのAquolin 270が含まれる。
本開示による接着剤組成物は、レオロジー調整剤をさらに含み得る。レオロジー調整剤は、非イオン性ウレタンポリマー、セルロース、セルロースエーテル、ポリエチレングリコール、デンプンエーテル、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリイミド、ガム、小麦粉、およびそれらの混合物を含み得るが、これらに限定されない。レオロジー調整剤は、好ましくは、セルロースエーテルなどの非会合性増粘剤から選択された。
本開示による接着剤組成物は、1つ以上の消泡剤をさらに含み得る。「消泡剤」という用語は、本明細書では、泡の形成を減少させ、かつ妨げる化学添加剤を指す。消泡剤は、シリコーン系消泡剤、鉱油系消泡剤、エチレンオキシド/プロピレンオキシド系消泡剤、またはそれらの混合物であり得る。好適な市販の消泡剤には、例えば、両方ともTEGOから入手可能なTEGO Airex902WおよびTEGO Foamex1488ポリエーテルシロキサンコポリマーエマルジョン、BYKから入手可能なBYK-024シリコーン変形剤、NOPCOから入手可能なNOPCO NXZ変形剤、またはそれらの混合物が含まれる。消泡剤は、接着剤組成物の総固形分重量で、一般に0.01~2%、0.02~1.5%、または0.04%~0.5%、または0.04~0.1%の量で存在し得る。
いくつかの用途では、高粘度(例えば、>20,000cP)および高固形分(例えば、>70%)を有する接着剤組成物が必要とされる。これらの場合、十分なポットライフを提供するために、NCO架橋剤の負荷が制限され、シランがNCO架橋剤を補う添加剤として使用され、したがって、十分なポットライフおよび接着性能の両方を提供する。本開示によるシランは、エポキシ官能性シランであってもよい。
本開示による接着剤組成物は、1つ以上の充填剤をさらに含み得る。充填剤には、炭酸カルシウム、シリカ、シリケート、石膏、パルプ、木粉、小麦粉、およびそれらの混合物、好ましくはCaCO3が含まれるが、これらに限定されない。充填剤は、接着剤組成物の総固形分重量で、一般に0~75%、10%~70%、または20%~60%、または30~60%の量で存在し得る。
上述の成分に加えて、本発明の接着剤組成物は、以下の添加剤:分散剤、緩衝材、中和剤、湿潤剤、防カビ剤、殺生物剤、着色剤、流動剤、酸化防止剤、可塑剤、均染剤、チキソトロピー剤、接着促進剤、および粉砕展色剤(grind vehicles)のうちのいずれか1つまたはそれらの組み合わせをさらに含み得る。一実施形態では、添加剤は、シランおよび分散剤からなる群から選択される。存在する場合、これらの添加剤は、接着剤組成物の総固形分重量に基づいて、0~5重量%、または0.1%~3重量%、または0.5%~1.5重量%の合計量で存在し得る。
本開示の接着剤組成物は、ZnO架橋剤などの金属酸化物架橋剤を含まない。
ガラス転移温度測定
10グラムのエマルジョンをプラスチック皿に入れ、室温で24時間乾燥させた。次いで、得られたフィルムを50℃に48時間供して、フィルムをさらに乾燥させた。フィルムの小片を切り取り、密封されたTA Instrumentsの標準アルミニウム密閉パンに入れた。試料を10℃/分の昇温速度で-60℃~100℃の2サイクルに供した。ポリマーのガラス転移温度を、変曲の中間点で半高法を使用して測定する。
1)合板試料を標準形状の試験試料に切断した(試験領域の断面は約25mm*25mm、正方形である)。試験される木材層の木目方向は、長辺に対して垂直である必要がある。
2)試験試料を沸騰水に4時間浸し、続いてオーブンで、(60±3)℃で16~20時間乾燥手順を行った。
3)次いで、試験試料を沸騰水にさらに4時間浸し、次いで、30℃以下の温度の冷水に少なくとも1時間浸した。
4)試験試料の両端をユニバーサル機械試験機に固定し、徐々に適用される力を増加させた。破壊点での最大力は、P最大として記録した。
5)接着強度を、式:XA=P最大/(b*l)のように計算し、式中、XA=試料接着強度(MPa)、P最大=試料破壊点での最大力(N)、bおよびlは試料パラメータであり、bは約25mmであり、lは約25mmである。計算されたXAが0.7MPa以上であった場合、試料は接着強度テストに合格した。
ポットライフは、木材接着剤の用途にとって非常に重要である木材バインダーの粘度安定性を反映する。イソシアネートの反応性が高いため、ポットライフはバインダー配合の実現可能性に強く影響する。評価手順は次のとおりに列挙する:
1)木材バインダーの完全な配合物を準備する;
2)スピンドル63#、64#、または65#を使用して、25℃でブルックフィールド粘度計によりすぐに粘度を試験し、元の粘度をV0(cP)として記録した;
3)木材バインダーを、密封蓋をして25℃で保存する。V0と同じスピンドルおよび回転速度を使用して、1番目、2番目、3番目、および4番目の時間で試験粘度を試験し、Vn(n=1、2、3、および4)(cP)として記録した;
4)Vnが150%*V0を超える場合、ポットライフ(Tp)はn-1<Tp<nになる。粘度が安定しており、さらにV4が150%*V0を超えなかった場合、ポットライフはTp>4時間になる。
I)CE1-7およびIE1-3の接着剤組成物の調製
CE1-7およびIE1-3の接着剤組成物を、以下の調製手順に従って調製した。
1.アクリル水性エマルジョン、イソシアネート架橋剤、分散剤(存在する場合)、半分の量の消泡剤(存在する場合)、シラン添加剤(存在する場合)、および水(存在する場合)の混合物を、900rpmで高速混合によって15分間分散した。
2.混合物の内部に、充填剤(存在する場合)およびレオロジー調整剤(存在する場合)を撹拌しながら添加し、分散プロセスを、1500rpmで高速混合によりさらに15分間続けた。残りの半分の量の消泡剤をこの手順で添加した。
3.接着剤組成物はすぐに使用することができた。
1.調製したCE-1~CE-7の接着剤組成物をすぐに使用し、IE-1~IE-3を適用前に1時間保存した。
2.次いで、接着剤を木製回転ベニヤ(30cm*30cm*2.6mm)に適用した。負荷は片面に対して250g/m2であった。
3.接着剤を適用した回転ベニヤは、直接組み立ててプレスしたCE-5でコーティングしたものを除いて、さらに2時間放置した。
4.次いで、5つのベニヤを、結合ベニヤダイアドの木目が互いに垂直になるように層状に重ねることによって組み立てた。
5.次いで、ベニヤの組み立て品を、加硫機によって約1MPaの圧力で、室温で40分間プレスする。
6.次いで、組み立て品を、再び約1MPaで、110℃で15分間プレスする。
7.設計された木製床の試料を、室温で24時間放置した。

前記アクリルポリマーが、少なくとも1つのヘテロ官能基を担持する1つ以上のエチレン性不飽和モノマーの少なくとも1つの構造単位を有し、前記アクリルポリマーが、-45℃~0℃のガラス転移温度を有する、ホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物。 - 前記ヘテロ官能基が、ウレイド、ニトリル、アルコキシシラン、およびリン基からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の接着剤組成物。

(c)前記ホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物を、前記2層以上の木材のうちの1つまたは2つの表面上に適用することと、
(d)2層以上の木材を重ね、前記重ねた2層以上の木材を室温でプレスすることと、
(e)前記重ねた2層以上の木材を50~200℃の高温でプレスすることと、を含む、合板を生成するための方法。 - 上記の方法によって得られた前記合板が、3~11層の木材を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 請求項1~8のいずれか一項に記載のホルムアルデヒド不含接着剤組成物によって得られる、合板。
