本願の実施例は電子機器を提供し、該電子機器は本願の実施例に係る電気化学装置を用いるいかなる装置であってもよい。
性能の測定
(1)SEMによる測定
走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)は電子ビームとサンプルとの相互作用によって、二次電子信号を利用してイメージングしてサンプルの形態構造を取得する。本願に使用される走査型電子顕微鏡はJEOLLtd.のJSM−6360LV型であり、該走査型電子顕微鏡とその相手となるエネルギー分散型X線分光器とがサンプルの形態構造(topography)及び元素分布を分析する。
1.5Cでリチウムイオン電池を4.2Vまで定電流充電し、次に0.05Cまで定電圧充電し、30分間静置し、0.1Cで10秒間放電し(0.1秒のタイミングにサンプリングを1回して、対応する電圧値をU1として記録する)、1Cで360秒間放電し(0.1秒のタイミングにサンプリングを1回して、対応する電圧値をU2として記録する)。充放電ステップを5回繰り返す。「1C」は1時間内に電池容量を完全に放電する電流値である。
常温環境において1Cで3.0Vまで定電流放電し、10分間静置する。次に、1.5Cで4.2Vまで定電流充電し、更に4.2Vの電圧で0.02Cまで定電圧充電する。5分間静置した後、135Cの電流でリチウムイオン電池を3秒間定電流放電し、3秒終了時の電圧値をリチウムイオン電池の135C高レート放電特性の評価標準とする。
測定対象とする電池を45℃の測定温度に置いて5分間静置し、1.5Cの電流でリチウムイオン電池を4.2Vまで定電流充電し、更に4.2Vの定電圧で0.05Cまで充電し、5分間静置し、更に1.5Cの電流で3.0Vまで定電流放電し、5分間静置する。上記充放電プロセスを500回繰り返し、各サイクル後の放電容量を記録する。
各サイクル後の容量維持率=(該サイクル後の放電容量/初回サイクルの放電容量)×100%
負極材料について、そのDv50及びDv99がその性能への影響を検討するために、本願の実施例1〜22及び比較例1〜3では、変数であるDv50と、Dv50とDv99との相関係数(0.06×(Dv50)2−2.5×Dv50+Dv99)と、並びに変数であるDv50と、Dv50とBETとの相関係数(0.2×Dv50−0.006×(Dv50)2+BET)とが、負極の冷間プレス効果と、負極活物質層と負極集電体との間の接着力と、及び対応する負極材料で製造されたリチウムイオン電池の直流抵抗とに対する影響をそれぞれ研究する。中でも、Dv50とDv99がいずれもμmで計量する。

を満足する人造黒鉛、スチレン・ブタジエンゴム(SBR)、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム(CMC)を、97.4:1.2:1.4の重量比で脱イオン水溶媒に分散させて十分に撹拌して均一に混合した後、厚さの1μmのアセチレンブラック導電性被膜が予め塗布された負極集電体Cu箔に塗布して、乾燥・冷間プレスして、負極を得る。中でも、実施例1〜21及び比較例1〜3における人造黒鉛の表面に無定形炭素を含有するが、実施例22における人造黒鉛の表面に無定形炭素を含有しない。
正極活性物質であるコバルト酸リチウム(LiCoO2)、導電剤であるアセチレンブラック、バインダーであるポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)を96:2:2の重量比で適量のN−メチルピロリドン(NMP)溶媒において十分に撹拌して均一に混合した後、正極集電体であるAl箔に塗布して、乾燥・冷間プレスして、正極を得る。
12μmのポリエチレン(PE)多孔質重合体薄膜をセパレータとして用いる。
乾燥アルゴンガスの環境において、EC、PC及びDEC(重量比が約1:1:1)を混合して、濃度が1.15mol/LになるようにLiPF6を加えて均一に混合する。電解液に、電解液の総重量にに対する3%のフルオロエチレンカーボネートを加える。
セパレータを正極と負極との間に置いて絶縁分離の作用を果たすように、正極、セパレータ、負極を順に積層して、巻き取って外部包装に置き、電解液を注入して密封し、化成、脱気、トリミング等のプロセスフローを経てリチウムイオン電池を得る。
薄層塗布プロセスは黒鉛負極材料をすでに改善した上で、更にリチウムイオン電池の高レート充放電特性を最適化することができる。一方、薄層塗布プロセスは冷間プレス後の負極活物質層の厚さにひどく依存している。且つ、塗布重量は電池の動力性能及びサイクル性能とは密接関係にある。
0.06×(Dv50)2−2.5×Dv50+Dv99=5、0.2×Dv50−0.006×(Dv50)2+BET=2.7を満足する人造黒鉛、スチレン・ブタジエンゴム(SBR)、カルボキシメチルセルロースナトリウム(CMC)を、97.4:1.2:1.4の重量比で脱イオン水溶媒に分散させて十分に撹拌して均一に混合した後、厚さの1μmのアセチレンブラック導電性被膜が予め塗布された負極集電体Cu箔に塗布し、乾燥・冷間プレスして、負極を得る。中でも、人造黒鉛の表面に無定形炭素がある。負極材料のDv99及び片面の負極活物質層の冷間プレス後の厚さTHKを、Dv99≦0.8THK≦40を満足するように制御し、且つ負極活物質層の厚さTHK及び負極材料の塗布重量CWを、1.2≦CW/(THK×1540.25)×1000≦1.9を満足するように制御する。
リチウムイオン電池の性能に対する負極集電体上の導電性被膜の影響を検討するために、上記研究を基に、実施例31〜36は更にリチウムイオン電池の電気化学性能に対する負極集電体上の導電性被膜の有無、種類及び厚さの影響を検討した。
上記研究を基に、実施例37〜41は更にリチウムイオン電池の電気化学性能に対する負極活物質の空隙率及び充電前後の負極材料のC004/C110の影響を検討した。

前記導電性被膜は炭素繊維、ケッチェンブラック、アセチレンブラック、カーボンナノチューブ及びグラフェンのうちの1つ又は複数を含む請求項3〜7のいずれか1項に記載の負極。 - 前記負極活物質層のCWが40mg〜100mgである請求項3〜8のいずれか1項に記載の負極。
- 前記負極材料は、Dv50が4μm〜17μmであり、Dv99が15μm〜35μmであり、かつ、比表面積が1.0m2/g−4.0m2/gである請求項3〜9のいずれか1項に記載の負極。
- 前記負極活物質層の空隙率が31%〜41%である請求項3〜10のいずれか1項に記載の負極。
- 前記導電性被膜の厚さが0.5μm〜1.5μmである請求項8〜11のいずれか1項に記載の負極。
- 正極、セパレータ、電解液及び請求項3〜12のいずれか1項に記載の負極を含む電気化学装置。
- 前記電気化学装置を満充電して解体した後に、前記負極における前記負極活物質層のC004/C110比が7.45〜9.57である請求項13に記載の電気化学装置。
