Claims (15)
- 媒体ビンと、
前記媒体ビンに向かって光子を送信する光センサと、
コントローラと
を備えてなる装置であって、
前記コントローラは、
前記媒体ビン上に配置される目標物の較正面と前記光センサとの間の距離を特定し、
前記特定された距離と予想較正距離との間の差からセンサオフセットを特定し、
前記光センサに面する妥当性確認面と前記光センサとの間の妥当性確認距離を特定し、
前記センサオフセットを用いて前記妥当性確認距離を補正し、
前記補正妥当性確認距離が前記妥当性確認面と前記光センサとの間の予想妥当性確認距離に基づく閾値内にあるときに、前記センサオフセットを妥当であると確認するものである、装置。 - 前記妥当性確認面は、前記媒体ビン上に配置される妥当性確認目標物上にある、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記妥当性確認面は、前記センサに面する前記媒体ビンの底面である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記妥当性確認面は、前記媒体ビン上に配置される前記目標物上にある、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記目標物は立方体である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記目標物は直方体である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記直方体は、第1の側に前記較正面を有し、第2の側に前記妥当性確認面を有する、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記目標物は、既知の寸法の印刷媒体の積重物である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記目標物は、前記媒体ビン上の前記妥当性確認面と同じ面上に配置される前記媒体ビン上の表面であり、前記目標物及び前記妥当性確認面は、前記センサから異なる距離に位置する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記較正面と前記センサとの間の前記距離は、前記光センサから送信され、前記較正面から反射された後に前記光センサに戻される光子の飛行時間に基づいて特定される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 光センサと、該光センサに面する媒体ビン上に配置される目標物の表面との間の距離を特定するステップであって、該距離は、n回の測定の平均として計算され、nは1以上の整数である、ステップと、
前記距離に基づいて、前記光センサのセンサオフセットを特定するステップであって、該センサオフセットは、特定された前記距離と予想距離との間の差である、ステップと、
前記光センサと前記媒体ビン上に配置される前記目標物の妥当性確認面との間の妥当性確認距離を特定するステップであって、前記距離はm回の測定の平均として計算され、mは1以上の整数である、ステップと、
前記センサオフセットを用いて前記妥当性確認距離を補正するステップと、
前記補正妥当性確認距離が閾値内にあるときに、前記光センサの前記センサオフセットを妥当であると確認するステップと
を含んでなる方法。 - 前記光センサと前記目標物との間の前記距離は、センサにおいて送信され、反射によりセンサに戻される、単位時間あたりの光子の数に基づいて特定される、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記予想距離は、前記目標物の寸法に基づく、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記閾値は、前記目標物の寸法に基づく、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記補正妥当性確認距離が前記閾値から外れるときに警告を出す、請求項11に記載の方法。
