Description

図１に示すように、反力モータ１６は、ステアリングホイール６を第１の回動軸２２周りに回動させた際に、ステアリングホイール６の回動方向と反対方向のトルクである操舵反力を発生させるためのモータであり、例えば三相のブラシレスモータである。反力モータ１６は、移動機構１０の可動部材３６と折り畳み機構１２との間に連結されている。反力モータ１６が操舵反力を発生させることにより、運転者２０に路面反力に応じた適度な手応え感を与えることができる。また、反力モータ１６は、後述するようにステアリングホイール６をダッシュボード２６の内部に収納する際に、予め、ステアリングホイール６を中立位置まで回動させた後に、ステアリングホイール６の回動を中立位置でロックする。さらに、反力モータ１６には、ロータの回転角を検出するための回転角センサ８が設けられている。
また、制御部８４は、回転角センサ８により検出されたロータの回転角に基づいて、操舵角を算出する。なお、操舵角とは、ステアリングホイール６の中立位置からの回動角度である。制御部８４は、算出された操舵角に基づいて、反力モータ１６を制御する。これにより、制御部８４は、例えば自動運転モードの開始時において、ステアリングホイール６を中立位置まで回動させたり、ステアリングホイール６の回動を中立位置にロックしたりする。なお、ステアリングホイール４の回動を中立位置でロックするためのロック機構として、例えば回動する側の部材に設けられた孔に挿通されるソレノイドロックを用いてもよい。
