Abstract
Description
過活動膀胱(OAB)は、推定有病率が人口の16%である、男性および女性に影響を及ぼす一般的な疾患であり、2018年までに最大で推定5億人に影響を及ぼす疾患である。OABの年間総負担額は、6カ国(カナダ、ドイツ、イタリア、スペイン、スウェーデン、英国)で39億米ドルと予測されている。過活動膀胱の症状には、尿意切迫として知られている、すぐに排尿したくなる制御不能な欲求が含まれるが、その後に尿失禁(失禁)、排尿頻度の増加、および/または夜間頻尿が発生する場合もあればそうでない場合もある。夜間頻尿は、夜間に1回、2回、3回、またはそれ以上、排尿のために目を覚まさなければならなくなる内科的疾患である。下部尿路(LUT)機能障害は、脳卒中、脊髄損傷、多発性硬化症、またはパーキンソン病のような神経変性疾患を含む様々な非神経学的または神経学的原因に続発する場合がある。過活動膀胱の標準的な治療選択肢には、定時排尿または骨盤筋訓練のような行動戦略、または膀胱への抗ムスカリン薬またはボツリヌス毒素注射のような薬物療法が含まれる。
