以下、本発明が属する技術分野において通常の知識を有する者が容易に実施することができるように、本発明の実施例について詳細に説明する。しかし、本発明は、様々な相違する形態に実現され得、ここで説明する実施例に限定されない。
CoとVの前駆体物質としてCo(NO3)2・6H2OとNH4Vo3(Co/V、10:1モル比)2,424gを水2,000mlに投入し、クリアな水溶液をフラスコAに準備した。別に、アルミニウム系支持体前駆体として水酸化アルミニウム(Al(OH)3)を下記表1に記載の温度で4時間1次焼成して得られたアルミナ支持体2,000gをフラスコBに準備した。前記アルミナ支持体2,000gをモル基準100に換算し、Co/V30モルになるようにフラスコBに前記フラスコA溶液4,424gを添加した。また、クエン酸1モルに対してCoが下記表1に記載のモルになるようにクエン酸を添加した後、結果として得られた混合物の重量を測定し、グラファイト化触媒金属前駆体を十分に担持させるために60℃の恒温槽で5分間攪拌して熟成させた。前記温度を維持しながら熟成された混合物を80rpmで回転させて真空乾燥させ、乾燥後重量を測定して水分除去量を測定した(約14.1重量%)。結果として得られた乾燥反応物を下記表1に記載の温度で4時間2次焼成させて担持触媒を製造した。
前記実施例1‐1、比較例1‐1および比較例1‐2のカーボンナノチューブを走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)を用いて観察した。実施例1‐1のカーボンナノチューブの観察結果を図1〜図3に示した。比較例1‐1のカーボンナノチューブの観察結果を図4〜図6に示した。比較例1‐2で製造したカーボンナノチューブを図7〜図9に示した。
前記実施例1‐1、比較例1‐1および比較例1‐2のカーボンナノチューブに対して下記のような方法で、カーボンナノチューブ単位体の平均直径および長さ、カーボンナノチューブの2次構造形状、粒度、IG/ID比、純度、粉体抵抗、BET比表面積、かさ密度および真密度をそれぞれ測定し、その結果を下記表2に示した。
2)カーボンナノチューブ単位体の平均直径:SEMおよびBETを用いて測定した。
3)カーボンナノチューブ単位体の平均長さ:SEMおよびBETを用いて測定した。
4)結晶化度(IG/ID比):514.5nm波長のレーザを用いたラマン分光分析法によって得られた1、575cm−1〜1、600cm−1でのGバンドの最大ピーク強度(IG)に対する1,340cm−1〜1、360cm−1でのDバンドの最大ピーク強度(ID)の比(ID/IG)から平均値および標準偏差を求めた。
5)純度:灰分試験(ash test)によりカーボンナノチューブの純度を測定した。
6)粉体抵抗:パウダーを直径が1mmである絶縁モールドに充填して加圧し、表面の電流と電圧を4個の探針で測定し、補正係数を適用して圧力が62MPaである時の体積抵抗値を算出した。
7)BET比表面積:BEL Japan社製BELSORP‐mino IIを用いて液体窒素温度下(77K)での窒素ガス吸着量から算出した。
8)かさ密度:重量を知っている25ml容器にパウダーを充填して重量を測定した後、密度を換算する方法で測定した。
9)真密度:Pycnometer(AccuPyc II 1340)を用いて測定した。
前記実施例1‐1、比較例1‐1および比較例1‐2のカーボンナノチューブに対して粉体密度による粉体抵抗の変化を観察し、その結果を表3および図10に示した。
分散媒のN‐メチルピロリドン(NMP)溶媒94.0重量部に、下記表4に記載の導電材5重量部および下記表4に記載の分散剤1.0重量部を添加し、均質混合器(製造社:VMA、モデル名:LC55、インペラ回転速度:3,000rpm)を用いて60分間混合して混合物を製造した。前記混合物をネッチビーズミル(製造社:NETZSCH、モデル名:Minicer、ビーズサイズ:1mm、ビーズ回転速度:3,000rpm)を用いて60分間分散させて導電材分散液を得た。
実施例2‐1〜実施例2‐6、比較例2‐1および比較例2‐2で製造した導電材分散液内のカーボンナノチューブ‐分散剤複合体の粒径分布および粘度を測定した。その結果を下記表5に示した。
実施例2‐1〜実施例2‐6、比較例2‐1および比較例2‐2の導電材分散液を走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)を用いて観察した。実施例2‐1の導電材分散液の観察結果を図11に、実施例2‐2の導電材分散液の観察結果を図12に、実施例2‐3の導電材分散液の観察結果を図13に、実施例2‐4の導電材分散液の観察結果を図14に、実施例2‐5の導電材分散液の観察結果を図15に、実施例2‐6の導電材分散液の観察結果を図16に示した。比較例2‐1の導電材分散液の観察結果を図17に示した。比較例2‐2で製造した導電材分散液の観察結果を図18に示した。
正極形成用組成物の全重量に対して、下記表6に記載の導電材分散液23.35重量%、正極活物質LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2 75.49重量%およびバインダー1.16重量%を含む正極形成用組成物を製造し、その粘度を下記表6に記載した。
実施例3‐1〜実施例3‐6、比較例3‐1および比較例3‐2の正極形成用組成物の粉体密度による粉体抵抗(volume resistivity)の変化を観察した。その結果を表7および図19に示した。
下記表8に記載の正極形成用組成物をアルミニウム集電体に塗布した後、130℃で乾燥後、圧延して正極を製造した。また、混合物の全重量に対して、負極活物質として黒鉛97重量%、導電材としてカーボンブラック1重量%、バインダーとしてスチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)1重量%および増粘剤としてカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)を1重量%混合した混合物353gを水250mlに混合して負極形成用組成物を製造し、これを銅集電体に塗布して負極を製造した。
実施例4‐1〜実施例4‐6、比較例4‐1および比較例4‐2のリチウム二次電池を低温(‐10℃)でSOC50%を基準として6.5Cの条件で放電時に時間経過による電圧変化をそれぞれ測定した(カットオフ電圧:1.9V)。その結果を表9および図20に示した。
