Abstract
Description
本出願は、2015年11月30日付韓国特許出願第10−2015−0169181号に基づいた優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示されている全ての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
リチウム複合金属酸化物を含むコア、及び
前記コアの表面上に位置する表面処理層を含み、
前記表面処理層は、中心金属イオンが有機リガンドと配位結合した多孔性配位高分子(porous coordination polymers)を含む。

LiaNi1−x−yCoxM1yM2wO2
前記化学式(1)で、
1.0≦a≦1.5、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、0≦w≦0.1及び0≦x+y≦0.2であり、より具体的には、1.0≦a≦1.2、0<x≦0.2、0<y≦0.2、0≦w≦0.1及び0<x+y≦0.2であり、
M1は、Mn及びAlからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ全部を含み、
M2は、Ba、Ca、Zr、Ti、Mg、Ta、Nb及びMoからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の元素を含むものであってよい。
Li(Ni0.85Co0.1Mn0.05)0.97Zr0.03O2(D50=5μm)100重量部に対し、リガンド化合物として1,4−ベンゼンジカルボキシレートを2重量部、金属原料物質としてAl(OH)3を2重量部でジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)の中で混合したあと、130℃の温度で30分間熱処理して正極活物質を製造した。
表面処理層を形成していないLi(Ni0.85Co0.1Mn0.05)0.97Zr0.03O2(D50=5μm)を用いた。
前記実施例1及び比較例1で製造した正極活物質をそれぞれ利用してリチウム二次電池を製造した。
前記実施例1で製造した正極活物質に対し、走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)及びBETを利用して表面処理層の形成を確認した。
前記実施例1及び比較例1で製造した正極活物質を利用し、前記製造例に基づいて製造したそれぞれの正極に対し、圧延機を利用して2000kg・fの力を加えて圧延後の厚さ及び電極の重量を測定し、これから限界電極密度を評価した。その結果を下記表1に示した。
前記実施例1及び比較例1で製造した正極活物質を利用し、前記製造例に基づいて製造したそれぞれのリチウム二次電池に対し、常温(25℃)で4.25Vの駆動電圧の範囲内で0.5C/0.5Cの条件で300回サイクルの充放電を実施し、容量維持率を測定した。その結果を下記表2に示した。
前記実施例1及び比較例1で製造した正極活物質を利用し、前記製造例に基づいて製造したそれぞれのリチウム二次電池に対し、0.5Cの放電容量条件で60℃で4週間保管したあと、高温貯蔵特性を評価した。その結果を下記表3に示した。
Claims (29)
- リチウム複合金属酸化物を含むコア;及び
前記コアの表面上に位置する表面処理層;を含み、
前記表面処理層は、中心金属イオンが有機リガンドと配位結合した多孔性配位高分子を含むものである二次電池用正極活物質。 - 前記中心金属は、Mg、Zr、Ti、Ni、Mn、Co、Al及びVからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の元素を含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記有機リガンドは、カルボン酸基、カルボン酸陰イオン基、アミノ基、イミノ基、アミド基、スルホン酸基、スルホン酸陰イオン基、メタンジチオ酸基、メタンジチオ酸陰イオン基、ピリジン基及びピラジン基からなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の作用基を有する化合物またはその混合物を含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記有機リガンドは、ベンゼンジカルボン酸、ナフタレンジカルボン酸、ベンゼントリカルボン酸、ナフタレントリカルボン酸、ピリジンジカルボン酸、ビピリジルジカルボン酸、ギ酸、シュウ酸、マロン酸、コハク酸、グルタル酸、ヘキサン二酸、ヘプタン二酸、シクロヘキシルジカルボン酸、ピラジン及びビピリジンからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の化合物を含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、Mg、Zr、Ti、Ni、Mn、Co、Al及びVからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の元素を含む金属−カルボキシレートを含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、アルミニウムテレフタレート及びバナジウムテレフタレートからなる群より選択される少なくとも一つを含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、MIL−53(Al)の構造を有する請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、結晶性化合物のものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、2nmから50nmの平均気孔サイズを有するものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、BET比表面積が800から1200m2/gであるものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記多孔性配位高分子は、正極活物質の総重量に対して100から20,000ppmの含量で含まれるものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記表面処理層は、コアの全体表面積に対して25面積%以上100面積%未満で含まれるものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記表面処理層は、コアの半径に対して0.01から0.1の厚さ比で形成されるものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記リチウム複合金属酸化物は、酸化物内に存在するリチウム以外の金属元素の全体原子量に対し、ニッケルを80原子%以上の含量で含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 前記リチウム複合金属酸化物は、下記化学式(1)の化合物を含むものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。

(前記化学式(1)で、1.0≦a≦1.5、0≦x≦0.2、0≦y≦0.2、0≦w≦0.1及び0≦x+y≦0.2であり、
M1は、Mn及びAlからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ全部を含み、
M2は、Ba、Ca、Zr、Ti、Mg、Ta、Nb及びMoからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の元素を含む。) - 前記ニッケルは、前記リチウム複合金属酸化物の粒子のうち少なくともいずれか一つの粒子で、粒子の中心から表面に行くほど漸進的に増加する濃度勾配で分布するものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- 平均粒子サイズ(D50)が3μmから20μmである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- タップ密度が1.7g/cc以上のものである請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質。
- リチウム複合金属酸化物を含むコアを前記多孔性配位高分子化合物と混合したあと、熱処理して前記コアの表面上に表面処理層を形成するか;または、前記コアをリガンド化合物及び金属原料物質と溶媒の中で混合したあと、リガンド化合物と金属原料物質の自己組立によって前記コアの表面上に表面処理層を形成する段階を含む、請求項1に記載の二次電池用正極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記リガンド化合物は、ヒドロキシド系化合物及びカルボキシレート系化合物からなる群より選択される少なくともいずれか一つを含むものである請求項19に記載の二次電池用正極活物質の製造方法。
- 前記金属原料物質は、Mg、Zr、Ti、Ni、Mn、Co、Al及びVからなる群より選択されるいずれか一つまたは二つ以上の中心元素を含むアセテート系化合物またはヒドロキシド系化合物であるものである請求項19に記載の二次電池用正極活物質の製造方法。
- 請求項1から請求項18のうちいずれか一項に記載の正極活物質を含む二次電池用正極。
- 前記正極は、正極集電体;及び前記正極集電体上に位置する正極活物質層を含み、
前記正極活物質層は、前記正極活物質を正極活物質層の総重量に対して90から98重量%で含むものである請求項22に記載の二次電池用正極。 - 3.0g/cc以上の電極密度を有するものである請求項22に記載の二次電池用正極。
- 請求項22に記載の正極を含むリチウム二次電池。
- 請求項25に記載のリチウム二次電池を単位セルとして含む電池モジュール。
- 請求項26に記載の電池モジュールを含む電池パック。
- 中大型デバイスの電源として用いられるものである請求項27に記載の電池パック。
- 前記中大型デバイスが電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、プラグインハイブリッド電気自動車及び電力貯蔵用システムからなる群より選択されるものである請求項28に記載の電池パック。
