Abstract
Description
上記構成によれば、曲げ部は、受け部のうち電線が導出される側の端部から延出されるため、例えば受け部のうち電線が導出されない側方側の端部から迂回するように折り返す構成と比較して、曲げ部及び重ね部の経路を短くできるため、圧着端子の構成を簡素化することができる。
前記重ね部は、前記曲げ部に連なって延びる延出部と、前記延出部と交差する方向に延びる第2バレル部と、を備え、前記受け部のうち前記曲げ部が連なる部分は、前記第2バレル部が重なる部分よりも外方に張り出している。
このようにすれば、曲げ部上に配される導体部を低圧縮にすることが可能になるため、曲げ部に重なる導体部の損傷による電線の保持力の低下を抑制することが可能になる。
複数の電線間を接続するスプライス構造の圧着端子については、受け部の両端縁から電線が導出されるため、導体部が曲げ部に重なりやすいが、上記構成によれば、このようなスプライス構造の圧着端子について構成を簡素化することが可能になる。
実施形態1について、図1〜図15Cを参照しつつ説明する。本実施形態の端子付き電線10は、図1に示すように、2本の電線11,12のうち、1本を本線11とし、他の1本を支線12として圧着端子20としてのスプライス端子により電線11,12を圧着したものである。
電線11,12は、共に、金属の導体部13と、導体部13を覆う合成樹脂製の絶縁被覆14とを有する。導体部13は、例えばアルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金製の多数(複数)の金属素線を撚り合わせた撚り線によって構成されている。本線11は、圧着端子20により圧着される部分を含む所定の長さについて絶縁被覆14が除去されて導体部13が露出している。支線12の端末部は、絶縁被覆14が除去されて導体部13が露出されている。本線11から露出した導体部13と支線12の端末部で露出した導体部13とは、互いの外周面が接触した状態で並べられ、圧着端子20を外側から巻き付けるように圧着することで本線11と支線12とが電気的に接続される。
圧着端子20は、例えば銅または銅合金製であって、表面には錫めっきが施されており、図2に示すように、電線11,12の導体部13を受けるU字状の受け部21と、受け部21の左右に連なり、導体部13を受け部21との間に圧着する一対の第1バレル部24,24と、受け部21の一方の端部21Aに連なって折り返される折り返し片26と、を備え、これらが一体に形成されている。
(端子成形工程)
例えば金属板材をプレス機により打ち抜き加工を施し、図5に示すように、展開形状の複数の圧着端子が帯状のキャリア19で連結された連鎖端子を形成する。曲げ加工を施すとともにキャリア19の連結部分を切断する切断工程を行うことにより圧着端子20を形成することができる。また、折り返し片26について、受け部21側に折り返し、受け部21におけるバレル重ね領域23に第2バレル部31を重ねる。なお、キャリア19は、例えば圧着後に切断したり、圧着後に切断せずに残してもよい。
図10に示すように、下型41の載置面41Aに圧着端子20の受け部21を載置するとともに、受け部21に支線12の露出した導体部13及び本線11の露出した導体部13を載置する。このとき、受け部21と第2押圧部43との間には隙間が形成されている。
圧着端子20は、電線11,12の導体部13を受けるとともに、電線11,12が導出される端部21A,21Bを有する受け部21と、受け部21に連なり、導体部13を受け部21との間に圧着する一対の第1バレル部24,24と、受け部21における端部21Aから延出されて折り返すように曲げられる曲げ部27と、曲げ部27に連なり受け部21に重ねられる重ね部28と、を備える。
複数の電線11,12間を接続するスプライス構造の圧着端子20については、受け部21の両端部から電線11,12が導出されるため、電線11,12の導体部13が曲げ部27に重なりやすいが、上記実施形態によれば、このようなスプライス構造の圧着端子20について構成を簡素化することが可能になる。
次に、実施形態2を図16〜図22を参照して説明する。実施形態2の圧着端子50は、図18に示すように、折り返し片54と受け部53とが重なる部分のうち、第2バレル部31の領域以外の厚みを薄くして第2バレル部31の領域以外を低圧縮とするものである、以下では、実施形態1と同一の構成については同一の符号を付して説明を省略する。
圧着端子50の重ね部28は、曲げ部27に連なって延びる延出部29と、延出部29と直交する方向(交差する方向)に延びる第2バレル部31と、を備え、曲げ部27,延出部56及び受け部53のうち延出部56が重なる領域のうちの少なくとも一部の領域の厚みは、受け部21における第2バレル部31が重なるバレル重ね領域23の厚みよりも小さくされている。
このようにすれば、曲げ部27や延出部56上に配される導体部13の圧縮率を高くすることが可能になるため、曲げ部27や延出部56に重なる導体部13の損傷による電線11,12の保持力の低下を抑制することが可能になる。
次に、実施形態3を図23〜図25を参照して説明する。実施形態3では、実施形態1の圧着端子20にセレーション61を設け、実施形態2の圧着端子50にセレーション71を設けたものである。他の構成は上記実施形態と同一であるため説明は省略する。
図23,図24に示すように、圧着端子には、側方に溝状に延びるセレーション61(71)が前後方向に間隔を空けて設けられている。セレーション61(71)は、圧着の際に導体部13の酸化被膜を削って新生面を露出させる。
本明細書によって開示される技術は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば次のような種々の態様も含まれる。
(1)上記実施形態では、本線11及び支線12がアルミニウム電線であったが、これに限られず、本線11及び支線12の一方又は双方が銅電線等の他の金属からなる電線としてもよい。
(3)上記実施形態では、本線11及び支線12を並べて圧着するスプライス端子としたが、これに限られない。例えば、電線11,12の端末部に圧着され、相手側端子と接続されるメス型やオス型の圧着端子としてもよい。

- 電線の導体部を受けるとともに、前記電線が導出される端部を有する受け部と、
前記受け部に連なり、前記導体部を前記受け部との間に圧着する一対の第1バレル部と、
前記受け部における前記端部から延出されて折り返すように曲げられる曲げ部と、
前記曲げ部に連なり前記受け部に重ねられる重ね部と、を備える圧着端子。 - 前記重ね部は、前記曲げ部に連なって延びる延出部と、前記延出部と交差する方向に延びる第2バレル部と、
