Claims (7)
- ガラスリボンを加工する方法であって、
(I)一対の対向エッジ部分と該対向エッジ部分間に横方向に広がる中心部分とを有するガラスリボンの供給源を提供するステップ、
(II)前記ガラスリボンを前記曲げゾーンの下流の切断ゾーンへと通過させるステップ、
(III)前記ガラスリボンを前記切断ゾーンにおいて屈曲させて、屈曲配置を有する屈曲ターゲットセグメントを前記切断ゾーン内で提供するステップ、および、
(IV)前記切断ゾーン内において、前記エッジ部分の少なくとも一方を前記屈曲配置を有する前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントの前記中心部分から分離させるステップ、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記切断ゾーン内において前記エッジ部分の少なくとも一方を前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントの前記中心部分から分離させる間に、湾曲したエアバーで前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントを支持するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- ステップ(III)の際、前記ターゲットセグメントの前記屈曲配置が上向き凸状表面または上向き凹状表面を含むように、前記ガラスリボンを屈曲させることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記エッジ部分の少なくとも一方を分離させるステップが、前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントの前記上向き凸状表面の一部を、光送出装置を用いて加熱するステップを含むものであることを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記エッジ部分の少なくとも一方を分離させるステップが、前記上向き凸状表面の前記加熱された部分を、冷却剤流体を用いて冷却するステップをさらに含むものであることを特徴とする請求項4記載の方法。
- 前記上向き凸状表面の一部を加熱するステップが、前記光送出装置のレーザビームが該レーザビームの細長い放射ゾーンで前記凸状表面の前記一部と接触するように、該レーザビームを成形するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項4記載の方法。
- 前記切断ゾーン内において前記エッジ部分の少なくとも一方を前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントの前記中心部分から分離させる間に、エアバーの上向き凸状支持表面で前記屈曲ターゲットセグメントを支持するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
