Abstract
Description
以下に定義される用語に関しては、「特許請求の範囲」又は本明細書において異なる定義が与えられないかぎり、これらの定義が適用されるものとする。
基体に適した材料は、目的とする用途に主として応じて、当業者により容易に選択することができる。例えば、多くの実施形態では、基体は、例えば、色、引張り強さ、引き裂き抵抗、可撓性、弾性、弾力、寸法及び立体構造安定性などの所望の特性について選択されたシートである。
本発明の分離層は、層内に部分的に包埋されてそこから突出する粒子を有するバインダー層を含む。更に、分離層は、バインダー層の成分として取り込ませるか又はバインダー及び突出する粒子のオーバーコートとして塗布することができる剥離剤を含む。
本発明の物品では、バインダーは粒子を基体の第1の表面に対して保持するための担体として機能する。
本発明で有用な粒子の実例としては、有機、無機、又はこれらの組み合わせである微小球状粒子が挙げられる。
ただし、dは最近接隣接距離の平均であり、nは単位面積当たりの点の数である。試料内の異なるピーク領域は小さくなく、また重なることができないため、この関係は、これらの試料の最近接隣接距離を過小評価しやすい。正方形の格子に配列された点では、最近接隣接距離の平均は以下である。
本発明の分離層は、剥離剤を更に含む。いくつかの実施形態では、剥離剤は、基体の表面に塗布される前にコーティング組成物中に加えられ、バインダー層の表面及び通常は更に粒子の表面のバインダー層から突出した部分に所望の性質を付与する。他の実施形態では、剥離剤は、バインダー層及び粒子が基体の表面にコーティングされた後にオーバーコートとして分離層の面に塗布される。より簡単なプロセスでよく、得られる剥離剤の性質は分離層によりしっかりと固定されることから、前者の実施形態がしばしばより好ましい。
いくつかの実施形態では、本発明の物品は接着剤を更に含む。接着剤は、通常は感圧性接着剤であり、通常は室温で粘着性であることが多い。実施形態に応じて、接着剤は、目的とする用途での必要に応じて、永久接着剤、再接着可能な接着剤、又は剥離可能な接着剤であってよい。本発明の物品における使用に一般的に好ましい接着剤の1つの部類として、比較的硬めのアクリレートがある。適当な感圧性接着剤の実例としては、ユー・ピー・エム・ラフラタック社(UPM Raflatac)より事務用ラベル製品に利用可能なものなどのアクリレートからなる群から選択されるものが挙げられる。他の実例としては、国際公報第94/19420号(ビルスキ(Bilski)ら)、並びに米国特許第3,691,140号(シルバー(Silver))及び同第5,045,569号(デルガド(Delgado))に述べられるものなどのマイクロスフェア接着剤が挙げられる。当業者であれば、本発明での使用に適した感圧性接着剤を選択することができるであろう。
本発明の物品の驚くべき性能の範囲は、多くの用途におけるその使用を可能とするものである。
各実施例では以下の原材料を使用した。
以下の試験方法を各実施例で用いた。
8オンス(0.2リットル)のガラスジャーに、10gのMR−30G及び68gの脱イオン水を加えた。オーバーヘッドスターラーで静かに混合した後、21.5gのJONCRYL(商標)74Aを攪拌下で加え、粒子に対するバインダーの重量比を1.05:1とした。最後に、0.5gのNATROSOL(商標)250H4Rを加え、溶液に粘り気がでるまで約15分攪拌を継続して固形分21%の溶液を得た。
各成分を32オンス(0.95リットル)のジャー内で混合し、1〜1.25%のNATROSOL(商標)250H4Rによって増粘した点以外は、実施例1と同様にしてパイロットコーティングを調製した。
1Lの容器に、400gの固形分30%のKF−2001 LAB溶液、435gの脱イオン水、及び167gのJONCRYL(商標)74Aを攪拌下で加えて、LABプレミックス溶液を調製した。32オンス(0.95リットル)のガラスジャーに、68gのSPHERIGLASS(商標)3000及び427gの水を激しく攪拌しながら加えた。次に、158gのJONCRYL(商標)74A、75gのLABプレミックス、及び6.5gのNATROSOL(商標)250HHRを攪拌下で加えて、実施例25を調製した。36gのSUNPMMA S300、36gのSUNPMMA(商標)S400、429gの脱イオン水、189gのJONCRYL(商標)74A、75gのLABプレミックス、及び6.5gのNATROSOL(商標)250HHRを用いて上記と同様に別の試料を調製して、実施例26を調製した。
Claims (40)
- 物品であって、(1)第1の表面を有する基体と、(2)前記基体の前記第1の表面の少なくとも一部上の分離層と、を備え、前記分離層が、粒子が層内に部分的に包埋されてそこから突出するバインダーの層と、剥離剤と、を含む、物品。
- 前記基体が第2の表面を有し、(3)前記第2の表面の少なくとも一部に接着剤を更に備える、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記基体が、第1の表面及び第2の表面を有するシートである、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記シートが、紙、織布又は不織布、プラスチック、酢酸セルロース、エチルセルロース、金属、金属化ポリマー、及びセラミックを含む、請求項3に記載の物品。
- 前記基体が、1枚の紙から実質的になる、請求項3の物品。
- 前記バインダー層が、改質スチレンアクリルポリマー、アクリルポリマー、アクリルラテックス、酢酸ビニル−エチレンエマルション、アクリル分散液、スチレンーブタジエン機能性ポリマー、ポリビニルアルコール、アクリル樹脂、及びウレタン分散液からなる群から選択される1つ以上の樹脂を含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記バインダー層が、水分散性である、請求項1に記載の物品。
