Claims (6)
- エンジンから排出される排気ガスの一部を吸気通路に還流させるEGR通路、当該EGR通路を還流する排気ガスの流量を制御するEGRバルブ、および当該EGR通路を還流する排気ガスを冷却するEGRクーラを有するEGR装置と、
前記EGRバルブを制御するEGRバルブ制御手段と、
エンジンのシリンダヘッドを経由する第1流路および当該第1流路から分岐して前記EGRクーラを経由する第2流路を含み、かつ冷却水が循環する冷却水流路と、
前記冷却水流路内の冷却水を循環させる冷却水ポンプと、
前記第2流路における冷却水の流量を制御する流量制御バルブと、
前記第1流路における冷却水の温度を検出する温度検出手段と、
前記温度検出手段で検出された温度に基づいて前記流量制御バルブの開度を制御するバルブ制御手段とを備え、
前記バルブ制御手段は、(i)前記温度検出手段で検出された温度が予め定められた温度閾値未満であり、かつ前記EGRバルブ制御手段により前記EGRバルブを開く制御が行われないときには前記流量制御バルブの開度をゼロとし、(ii)前記温度検出手段で検出された温度が前記温度閾値未満であり、かつ前記EGRバルブ制御手段により前記EGRバルブを開く制御が行われたときには前記流量制御バルブを開き、(iii)前記温度検出手段で検出された温度が前記温度閾値以上であるときには前記流量制御バルブを開くことを特徴とする、エンジンの冷却システム。 - 前記(ii)の制御を行っているときに、前記バルブ制御手段は、前記第2流路における冷却水の流量が予め定められた流量以下となるように前記流量制御バルブの開度を制御することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のエンジンの冷却システム。
- 前記第1流路は、前記EGRクーラを経由しないことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のエンジンの冷却システム。
- 前記第1流路は、当該第1流路から前記第2流路が分岐する分岐点の下流側に下流側流路を有し、
前記流量制御バルブは、前記第2流路における冷却水の流量および前記下流側流路における冷却水の流量を制御し、前記下流側流路に対するバルブの開度を常時ゼロ近傍の予め定められた小開度に保つことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載のエンジンの冷却システム。 - 排気通路を通過する排気ガスのエネルギーにより駆動されるタービンと、当該タービンにより駆動されて前記吸気通路内の空気を加圧するコンプレッサとを有するターボ過給機が備えられ、
前記EGR通路は、前記排気通路における前記タービンの下流側と前記吸気通路における前記コンプレッサの上流側とを連通し、
前記EGRバルブ制御手段は、前記温度検出手段で検出された温度が予め定められた温度閾値未満であり、かつ前記エンジンの作動状態が低負荷領域にあるときには、前記EGR装置によって排気ガスを還流させず、前記温度検出手段で検出された温度が前記温度閾値未満であり、かつ前記エンジンの作動状態が高負荷領域にあるときには、前記EGR装置によって排気ガスを還流させるように、前記EGRバルブを制御することを特徴とする、請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載のエンジンの冷却システム。 - 前記流量制御バルブは、開度が大きくなるほど冷却水流量が大きくなるロータリーバルブであることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載のエンジンの冷却システム。
