Abstract
Description
Claims (5)
- 自ら発光する発光領域をそれぞれ有する画素がマトリクス状に配置されると共に、有機絶縁材料からなる有機絶縁層を有する表示領域と、
前記表示領域の周囲にあり、金属配線もしくは薄膜トランジスタを用いた回路が配置され、前記有機絶縁層を有する周辺回路領域と、
前記表示領域と前記周辺回路領域との間に形成された遮断領域と、を備え、
前記遮断領域は、
前記表示領域を覆い、前記発光領域を発光させるための2つの電極のうちの一方であり、前記表示領域から連続して形成された電極層を有し、前記電極層から基材である絶縁基板までが無機材料の層のみで構成される第1遮断領域と、
前記第1遮断領域を構成する複数の層及び発光有機層のみで構成される第2遮断領域と、を有する発光素子表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の発光素子表示装置であって、
前記発光有機層は、有機発光材料により形成された前記表示領域を覆う発光層である、ことを特徴とする発光素子表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の発光素子表示装置であって、
前記発光有機層は、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、電子注入層、電子輸送層のいずれかを含んでいる、ことを特徴とする発光素子表示装置。 - 絶縁基板上にTFT(Thin Film Transistor)を含む回路を表示領域及び表示領域の周囲の周辺回路領域に形成するTFT回路形成工程と、
前記表示領域内の各画素において前記回路と電気的に接続された電極、及び前記電極の周囲に形成される有機絶縁膜を形成する電極・有機絶縁膜形成工程と、
前記周辺回路領域を覆い、前記周辺回路領域のみに接するマスク領域を有する蒸着マスクを用いて発光有機層を蒸着する発光有機層形成工程と、
少なくとも前記発光有機層を覆い、前記絶縁基板の全面を封止するための封止膜を形成する封止膜形成工程と、を有する発光素子表示装置製造方法。 - 請求項4に記載の発光素子表示装置製造方法であって、
前記発光有機層形成工程において、前記蒸着マスクの内側端が遮断領域内に配置されている、ことを特徴とする発光素子表示装置製造方法。
