Description
米国特許第5,378,534号には、内部空隙を具体化する分散されたポリマー粒子の水性懸濁液を水ベースのコーティング材料と混合することにより調製された不透明化化合物で、着色シートをコートすることにより形成された記録シートを開示する。
前記層が、コア/シェル構造を有するポリマー粒子、および前記ポリマー粒子の重量を基準にして1重量%から90重量%の、45℃から200℃の融点を有する不透明性低減剤を含み、
前記粒子が(i)40℃から130℃の計算Tgを有する外側ポリマーシェルを有し、前記粒子が乾燥時に少なくとも1つの空隙を含む粒子からなる群から選択される、
記録材料を提供する。
前記層が、永続的着色剤、およびコア/シェル構造を有するポリマー粒子、並びに前記ポリマー粒子の重量を基準にして1重量%から90重量%の、45℃から200℃の融点を有する不透明性低減剤を含み、
前記粒子が、40℃から130℃の計算Tgを有する外側第1ポリマーシェルを有し、前記粒子が乾燥時に少なくとも1つの空隙を含む、

式中、Tg(calc.)は、コポリマーについて計算されたガラス転移温度であり、
w(M1)はコポリマー中のモノマーM1の重量分率であり、
w(M2)はコポリマー中のモノマーM2の重量分率であり、
Tg(M1)はM1のホモポリマーのガラス転移温度であり、
Tg(M2)はM2のホモポリマーのガラス転移温度であり、
全ての温度はK単位である。
サンプル1−3は米国特許第6,252,004号の実施例17の教示に従って調製された。
サンプル1は、63.1℃の計算Tgを有する内側シェル、および−1.5℃の計算Tgを有する外側シェルを有していた。サンプル2は、100.7℃の計算Tgを有する外側シェル(単一のシェル)を有していた。サンプル3は、64.6℃の計算Tgを有する内側シェル、および6.1℃の計算Tgを有する外側シェルを有していた。
ベース基体(支持体)としてのA4セルロースコピー紙(ASPEN(商標)30)。
手作業によるドローダウンのための#18および#22WWR。
熱印刷試験のためのプリントレックスアトランテックペーパーテスターモデル200。
支持体シートの粗さは、パーカープリント表面粗さ試験機(モデルNo.M590、Messmer Instruments Ltd.)により、TAPPI公式試験法T555を使用して測定される。この方法は、試験面とそれに接触する金属バンドとの間のエアフローを測定する。エアフローの流量は紙の表面平滑性に関連する。5回の測定の平均がその試料の粗さとして記録される。
本明細書では、粒子サイズ(直径)は、Brookhaven BI−90プラス粒子サイズ分析器を使用して測定されたものである。
本明細書では、融点は、示差走査熱量測定によって、TAインスツルメンツQ1000 V9.6 Build290を使用して決定されたものである。水性分散物または溶液の形態であった不透明性低減剤が、示差走査熱量測定パンに置かれ、室温で72時間乾燥させられた。その時間後この載せられたパン上に蓋が載せられた。150℃未満の融点については、不透明性低減剤サンプルを、20℃/分の速度で室温から150℃に加熱されて5分間保持し、次いで、−90℃で平衡化されて2分間保持され、20℃/分の速度で150℃に加熱され、この第2の加熱サイクルから読取り値を取得した。

Claims (6)
- a)少なくとも1つの着色面を含む支持体;並びに、その上に配置されたb)層
を含む記録材料であって、
前記層が、コア/シェル構造を有するポリマー粒子、および前記ポリマー粒子の重量を基準にして1重量%から90重量%の、45℃から200℃の融点を有する不透明性低減剤を含み、
前記粒子が40℃から130℃の計算Tgを有する外側第1ポリマーシェルを有し、前記粒子が乾燥時に少なくとも1つの空隙を含む、
記録材料。 - 前記ポリマー粒子が、−55℃から50℃の計算Tgを有する外側第2ポリマーシェルをさらに含み、前記外側ポリマーシェルの計算Tgが前記内側ポリマーシェルのそれよりも低い、請求項1に記載の記録材料。
- 前記着色面が、3.0ミクロン未満の表面粗さを有する、請求項1または2に記載の記録材料。
- a)支持体;並びに、その上に配置されたb)層
を含む記録材料であって、
前記層が、永続的着色剤、コア/シェル構造を有するポリマー粒子、および前記ポリマー粒子の重量を基準にして1重量%から90重量%の、45℃から200℃の融点を有する不透明性低減剤を含み、
前記粒子が、40℃から130℃の計算Tgを有する外側第1ポリマーシェルを有し、前記粒子が乾燥時に少なくとも1つの空隙を含む、
記録材料。 - 前記ポリマー粒子が、−55℃から50℃の計算Tgを有する外側第2ポリマーシェルをさらに含み、前記外側ポリマーシェルの計算Tgが、前記内側ポリマーシェルのそれよりも低い、請求項4に記載の記録材料。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれか1項の記録材料を形成し;
前記記録材料の選択された部分を、前記選択された部分の不透明性を低減させるのに充分な熱、圧力およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される物理的手段にかける
ことを含む、画像を提供する方法。
