Abstract
Description
本願は、米国仮特許出願第61/413,021号(「クロスフロー型電気化学脱イオン化装置およびその製造方法」、2010年11月12日出願)および米国仮特許出願第61/510,157号(「モジュール式クロスフロー型電気透析装置およびその製造方法」、2011年7月21日出願)に対して、米国特許法第119条(e)の下での優先権を主張するものであり、それぞれの全開示内容は本明細書中に参照により引用される。
Claims (20)
- 電気浄化装置用の第1のセルスタックの作製方法であって、
第1の流体フロー経路を含む第1の区画室を形成するために、第1のカチオン交換膜および第1のアニオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分において前記第1のアニオン交換膜を前記第1のカチオン交換膜に固定するステップと、
前記第1の流体フロー経路とは異なる方向の第2の流体フロー経路を含む第2の区画室を形成するために、前記第1のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第2の部分および第2のアニオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分において前記第2のアニオン交換膜を前記第1のカチオン交換膜に固定するステップと、
を含み、
前記第1の区画室および前記第2の区画室がそれぞれ、前記第1のカチオン交換膜、前記第1のアニオン交換膜および前記第2のカチオン交換膜の各表面積の85%超の流体接触を提供するように構成されかつ配置されている、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第1のアニオン交換膜と前記第1のカチオン交換膜との間に第1のスペーサを設けるステップと、
前記第2のアニオン交換膜と前記第1のカチオン交換膜との間に第2のスペーサを設けるステップと、
をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第1のスペーサおよび前記第2のスペーサの少なくとも一方が遮断スペーサである、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の区画室および前記第2の区画室の少なくとも一方がフロー再分配器を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のアニオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分が、前記第1のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分と連結するように構成されかつ配置されている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のセルスタックをケーシング内に固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第2のセルスタックを前記ケーシング内に固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のセルスタックと前記第2のセルスタックとの間に遮断スペーサを配置するステップをさらに含む、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の流体フロー経路が前記第2の流体フロー経路に対して垂直である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 電気浄化装置用のセルスタックの作製方法であって、
第1のカチオン交換膜と第1のアニオン交換膜との間に配設された第1のスペーサを有する第1のスペーサアセンブリを得るために、前記第1のアニオン交換膜および前記第1のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分において前記第1のカチオン交換膜を前記第1のアニオン交換膜に固定することにより第1の区画室を形成するステップと、
第2のアニオン交換膜と第2のカチオン交換膜との間に配設された第2のスペーサを有する第2のスペーサアセンブリを得るために、前記第2のアニオン交換膜および前記第2のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分において前記第2のアニオン交換膜を前記第2のカチオン交換膜に固定することにより第2の区画室を形成するステップと、
前記第1のスペーサアセンブリと前記第2のスペーサアセンブリとの間に配設されたスペーサを有するスタックアセンブリを得るために、前記第1のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第2の部分および前記第2のアニオン交換膜の周縁部の部分において前記第1のスペーサアセンブリを前記第2のスペーサアセンブリに固定することにより第3の区画室を形成するステップと、
を含み、
前記第1の区画室および前記第2の区画室がそれぞれ、前記第3の区画室における流体フローとは異なる方向の流体フローの方向を形成するように構成されかつ配置されている、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記セルスタックをケーシング内に固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 第1のモジュール式ユニットを得るために、流入口マニホルドおよび流出口マニホルドを備えたフレーム内に前記セルスタックを固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のモジュール式ユニットをケーシング内に固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記モジュール式ユニットをブラケットアセンブリにより前記ケーシングに固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 第2のモジュール式ユニットを前記ケーシング内に固定するステップをさらに含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のモジュール式ユニットと前記第2のモジュール式ユニットとの間に遮断スペーサを配置するステップをさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のスペーサ、前記第2のスペーサおよび前記第3のスペーサのうちの少なくとも1つが遮断スペーサである、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の区画室、前記第2の区画室および前記第3の区画室のうちの少なくとも1つがフロー再分配器を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記第1のアニオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分が、前記第1のカチオン交換膜の周縁部の第1の部分と連結するように構成されかつ配置されている、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の区画室における流体フローの方向が前記第2の区画室における流体フローの方向に対して垂直である、請求項10に記載の方法。
