Claims (6)
- 外部粒子表面を有し、ポリマーバインダー相および該相の中に封入された金属フレークまたは金属小板を含有するトナー粒子であって、金属フレークまたは金属小板が、相対的に小さな厚み寸法により区別される対向する主表面を有した実質的に二次元の粒子であり、主表面の相当円の直径が本来的に２ミクロン〜５０ミクロンの範囲内であり、アスペクト比が少なくとも２であり、該トナー粒子が該トナー粒子内に形成された離散した細孔をさらに含有し、少なくとも１０体積％の内部多孔度を有するトナー粒子。
- ポリマーバインダー相が固体状の組成的に連続した相を含有し、該固体状の組成的に連続した相内で離散した細孔が分散されている請求項１に記載のトナー粒子。
- 金属フレークが主として離散した細孔内に存在している請求項２に記載のトナー粒子。
- 粒子の内部多孔度が２０〜９０％である請求項１に記載のトナー粒子。
- 以下の工程を含む請求項１に記載のトナー粒子の製造方法：
分散された金属フレークを含有する第１水性相を供給する工程；
ポリマーバインダーを含有する有機溶液に該第１水性相を分散させて、第１エマルションを形成する工程；
第２水性相に該第１エマルションを分散させて、第２エマルションを形成する工程；
該第２エマルションを粒状安定化剤の存在下、剪断して、第２水性相中で第１エマルションの液滴を形成する工程；および
該液滴から有機溶液を蒸発させて、金属フレークが封入された多孔質トナー粒子を形成する工程。 - 以下の工程を含むトナー画像の形成方法：
金属フレークが封入された多孔質トナー粒子からなる請求項１に記載のトナー粒子を含むトナー画像を支持体上に形成する工程；および
熱の適用によりトナー粒子を支持体に融着させて、トナー粒子を支持体に定着させる工程において、トナー粒子内の細孔が金属フレークに空間を提供し、該金属フレークが、融着により受像用支持体表面と相対的により平行になるように、トナー粒子バインダー相内で再配向する工程。
