Abstract
【解決手段】扁平型電池10(二次電池)は、正極と負極とセパレータ22とを有する積層電極体を外装部材30内に電解液とともに収納してある。この扁平型電池は、セパレータの外周部を外装部材とともに接合した複数の接合部40を有している。少なくとも接合部同士の間に、電解液を保持した保持部50を形成している。そして、接合部のそれぞれの周囲の長さの合計は、接合部のすべてを包含する最小面積をなす矩形の周囲の長さよりも長く形成している。

Description
を有する。負極は、例えば、カーボンおよびリチウム−遷移金属複合酸化物からなる負極活物質層を有する。セパレータ22は、例えば、電解質を浸透し得る通気性を有するポーラス状のPE(ポリエチレン)から形成される。
次に、本発明に係る扁平型電池の他の実施形態について説明する。
本発明は、上述した各実施形態に限定されるものではなく、適宜改変することができる。例えば、外装部材30の一の辺に正負のタブ41、42の両方が配置される扁平型電池10を示したが、正負のタブを異なる辺に配置した二次電池に適用できることは言うまでもない。また、タブが配置される辺に保持部50を設けてもよい。
次に、複数の接合部40を備える扁平型電池10の実施例について説明する。なお、本発明に係る二次電池は、以下の実施例に示す形態のみに限定されるものではない。

Claims (3)
- 正極と負極とセパレータとを有する積層電極体を外装部材内に電解液とともに収納した二次電池であって、
前記セパレータの外周部を前記外装部材とともに接合した複数の接合部と、
少なくとも前記接合部同士の間に形成され前記電解液を保持した保持部と、を有し、
前記接合部のそれぞれの周囲の長さの合計は、前記接合部のすべてを包含する最小面積をなす矩形の周囲の長さよりも長い、二次電池。 - 正極と負極とセパレータとを有する積層電極体を外装部材内に電解液とともに収納した二次電池であって、
前記セパレータの外周部を前記外装部材とともに接合した接合部と、
互いに隙間を隔てて隣接する複数の前記接合部を含む一の接合領域と、
前記隙間よりも前記一の接合領域から離隔して形成された他の接合領域と、
少なくとも前記接合部同士の間に形成され前記電解液を保持した保持部と、を有し、
前記一および他の接合領域において、隣接する前記接合部のそれぞれの周囲の長さの合計は、隣接した前記接合部を包含する最小面積をなす矩形の周囲の長さよりも長い、二次電池。 - 前記外装部材における外周部は、電池を支持するための支持部材に接続される複数の支持部と、前記支持部同士の間に配置され電池の外方に向けて伸びる延長部と、を含み、
前記セパレータの外周部は、前記外装部材の前記延長部に向けて伸びるとともに前記接合部が形成される舌部を含んでいる請求項1または請求項2に記載の二次電池。
