スクリーンサンプルの利得を、特定範囲の角度にわたるサンプルの角輝度を、公知の試験基準の角輝度によって割ることによって求める。基準は、Newport Corporation(Irvine CA)から市販されている12インチの360°回転台の上に−5°傾斜したゴニオメーターに装着された、Labsphere,Inc.(North Sutton,NH)から市販されている、NISTに追跡可能なSpectralon(登録商標)拡散白色基準である。Labsphere,Inc.から市販されている均一な照明「A」,2856K、コリメートされた光源を、基準の面上に15mmのスポットで照明するように−5°の傾斜で拡散基準から50cmの距離で回転台に装着して、照明角度および光源の距離を一定に保ち、かつサンプルが回転するのと共に移動するようにした。Photo Research,Inc.(Chatsworth,CA)から市販されているPhoto Research PR−1980B Prichard Spectroradiometerを回転台に対して垂直に装着した。照明源の電源を入れ、かつ照明源を安定化させて、5°の角度間隔で輝度の測定を行い、記録した。基準の測定が完了したら、基準の代わりに投影スクリーンサンプルを装着し、サンプルに同一の測定を行い、記録した。次いで、各角度におけるサンプルの測定を、基準の同様の測定によって割り、−60°〜+60°の範囲の観察角におけるサンプルの利得を得た。その後、各角度におけるこの利得データをプロットした。
X−Brite,Inc.(Grand Rapids,Michigan)から市販されている較正SP−64 Sphere Spectrophotometerを使用して、各サンプル上の5箇所において反射率を測定した。400nm〜700nmの範囲の波長における反射率の平均、ならびに目の明順応視感度のピークに最も近い550nmの波長における反射率を報告する。
各サンプルの鏡面光沢度を、ASTM D523に従って、Paul A.Gardner Company,Inc.(Pompano Beach,Florida)から市販されているGL−4601 Haze−Gloss Meterを使用して、反射率を測定した箇所と同一の5箇所において測定した。平均光沢度測定値を20°、60°、および85°の入射角度で報告した。
Claims (7)
- a)約5ミル〜約15ミルの厚さを有し、かつ60°の入射角度で測定するときに約85%を超える光反射率および約10%未満の光沢度を有する少なくとも1つの無着色のフラッシュ紡糸網状フィラメントフィルム−フィブリルシートを含む前面および後面を有する二重目的の光反射性支持基材;および
b)基材の前面を覆う光拡散層であって、拡散増進粒子を含有する光透過性で溶融加工可能なポリマーを含む、約0.2ミル〜約15ミルの厚さを有する光拡散層;
を含む反射型投影スクリーンであって、
投影スクリーンの光学利得が約0.90〜約2.0であり、および光学利得の偏差が、−60°〜+60°の観察角にわたって約8%以下である、反射型投影スクリーン。 - 光拡散層が、溶融加工可能なポリマーの重量を基準として拡散増進粒子を約10重量%未満含む、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
- 基材が、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエステル、アセチルポリオキシメチレン樹脂、ポリアミドからなる群から選択されるポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
- 光拡散層が、ポリエチレンポリマーおよびブレンド、ポリプロピレンポリマー、プロピレンとエチレンとのコポリマー、エチレンコポリマー、エチレンと酢酸ビニルとのコポリマー、エチレンとアクリレートとのコポリマー、エチレンコポリマーのブレンド、エチレンとE/MAMEとのコポリマーのE/MAMEとのブレンドからなる群から選択されるポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
- 拡散増進粒子が、二酸化チタンおよび炭酸カルシウムからなる群から選択される顔料を含む、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
- 不透明剤を含有する溶融加工可能なポリマーを含み、基材の後面を覆う裏打ち層をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
- 拡散層が、キャスティング、押出、加熱積層または接着積層によって基材の表面上に形成される、請求項1に記載の投影スクリーン。
