Abstract
Description
関節制御部に応答して、1つの角度を通して平面で関節移動する。また遠位アレイ部分36は、偏向部分34に接続される。この遠位アレイ部分36は、図2Aに表される第1の後退位置から図2Bに表される第2の展開位置に移動することができる、展開可能な遠位電極アレイを含む。当該展開制御部に連結される展開機構は、展開制御部の動きを連結して、遠位電極アレイ部分を操作し、当該関節制御部の操作から独立して、遠位アレイ部分を当該第2の展開位置に展開する。
図4Aは、遠位アレイ部分36の好適な構成方法におけるステップを示す。遠位アレイ部分36は、可撓性プリント回路60(「FPC」)から一部製造される。この構成方法は、反復可能な高い精度と低い製造コストという利点を有する。FPC60を構成するために、材料は、最初に図4Aに見られる平面形状で加工される。平面状態において、穴62に代表される一端において、一連の開口62がFPC60に開けられる。一連の開口62は、併せて、結合バンド70を形成する。FPC60の反対側のより近位端において、
終結バンド106が形成される。また平面FPC60をスリットして、個別のスプラインを解放する。従来のレーザ処理は、この加工ステップに好適である。
図4Cは、近接して並置され、両端が固定された前記2つの端を示す。結合バンド70および終結バンドまたは部分106は、併せて、円筒形状を完成させる。一般に、遠位結合バンド70は、カプセル化によって固定され、終結バンドは、カテーテルの偏向部分にそれを係留または結合することによって固定される。
図5Aは、併せて結合バンド70を形成する、開口62のリングを示す。図において、間隙の端部は、参照番号72に密接して見られる。
8および90は、金の層をチタン層の上にスパッタリングした後、金属層の総厚が2μmになるまでさらに金でめっきされる。銅等の他の導体も使用してよいことに留意されたい。また、各層に存在する接続回路機能の目的で、金属層88と90との間に電気接続を提供する必要もある。接続は、2つの金属層の間にビア96を構成することによって形成することができる。ビアは、金属層88および90とコア絶縁層86の両方を通る穴を開けることによって形成することができる。次いで、電気接続は、金属化層88と90との間の金属接続96を形成する、2つの金属層の間の穴の壁をめっきすることによって形成される。FPCは、さらに上面金属化層90の上にトップカバーコート92を提供することによってさらに構成される。トップカバーコート92は、上面金属層88の部分を外部接触から絶縁する働きをする。トップカバーコートは、上面金属層が外部接触に曝露されることが望ましい領域に配置される開口98を有する。例えば、マッピング電極54は、その上のカバーコートを曝露させ、図6Bに見られるように、上面金属層88の上にスパッタリングまたはめっきされ得る。
材料特性に加えて、電極領域は、インピーダンスに大きな影響を有し、設計において、電極領域は、スプラインの寸法によって制限され、トレースを含む他の金属特性の存在によってさらに制限される幅まで増大され得る。
のことながら、PEEKまたはニチノール等の他の材料を補剛剤として使用してもよい。補剛剤102は、ポリイミド接着層を使用して、底面カバーコートに接着される。他の接着剤、および特に、感圧接着剤をこの目的で使用してもよい。追加の補剛剤層を補剛剤層102の上に適用してもよい。補剛剤層120は、選択された領域における回路の合成を増大させる役割を担う。
図7は、金属化層の平面図を示す。図7における濃色領域は、図6Aと関連して説明されるプロセスによって形成される金属化トレースであるが、コア層および他の層は、明確にするために図示しない。図に見られるサブパネルは、金属化トレースパターンの拡大であり、様々な特徴を示す。例えば、図6AのFPCの終結部分106は、この図においてトレース108として示される。トレースは、カテーテルの近位部分において、FPCを回路またはコネクタに電気的に接続する機能を果たす、ワイヤまたは配線にFPCを接続できる領域を形成する役割を担う、金属層である。ワイヤまたは配線は、参照番号112によって指定されるような一連の終結線において、FPCに取り付けられ得る。
図8Aは、高剛性の領域124および低剛性の領域126を形成する、図6の典型的なFPCの剛性を増大させる方法を示す。
図8Cは、剛性領域124または低剛性領域126が散在する領域が、展開時に複雑なアレイ形状を形成し得る、代表的な形状を示す。図において、剛性領域124に比べて、より容易に折れ曲がる薄い領域126において応力が高い。
図9Bは、補剛剤層102が、図8Bに関連して説明されるように、底面カバーコート100の上に適用され得ることを示す。
図14は、展開を制限して、展開アレイの最終形状に対する厳密な制御を提供するための方策を示す。例えば、テザー300は、図14における中心軸から出て、スプラインまたは四肢の動きを制限し得る。
潔に述べると、アレイは、プルワイヤを引いて開ける。アレイは、非展開状態に戻るように、バネ400によってバイアスがかけられている。プルワイヤ52は、近位バネ402に係留されるハンドル30から、遠位先端に係留される遠位先端37まで伸張する。近位バネ402は、次いで、柄頭または展開制御部33に接続されている。展開制御部33が後退すると、プルワイヤは、ハンドル30に向けて遠位先端37を引く。先端の動きは、ブッシング408上を摺動するチューブ406によって先導される。この動きは、チューブが表面404に達するまで継続することができる。この機械的な係止手段は、遠位部分がどれだけ短くなるかを決定する。結果として、この係止手段は、展開可能なアレイの展開状態を制限する役割も担う。この図において、スプラインは、明確にするために図示されない(比較のためには、図16Bを参照)。この動きは、遠位バネ400も圧迫する。プルワイヤの張力が緩むと、遠位バネ400はアレイを非展開状態に回復する。
の完全に展開した直径よりも小さい構造体に導入することが望ましい、マッピング操作を行う際に有用である。電極位置は、展開中に回転部材によって用いられた回転数から求めることができる、展開の量から決定される。

遠位端および近位端を有する長尺状のカテーテル本体と、
関節移動制御部および展開制御部を有する近位ハンドル部分であって、前記近位端に接続される、近位ハンドル部分と、
前記ハンドル部分に接続される中間部分と、
前記中間部分に接続される偏向可能部分であって、前記関節移動制御部に応答して、1つの角度を通して平面で関節移動するように適合される、偏向可能部分と、
前記偏向可能部分に接続される遠位アレイ部分であって、第1の後退位置から第2の展開位置に移動することができる、展開可能な電極アレイを含む、遠位アレイ部分と、
前記展開可能な電極アレイに対する前記展開制御部の連結運動のための前記展開制御部に連結され、前記関節移動制御部の操作から独立して、前記電極アレイを前記第2の展開位置に展開させる、展開機構と、
を備えるカテーテル。 - 前記展開機構は、
前記遠位配置部分に係留され、前記ハンドルのバネに係留されるプルワイヤと、
前記バネは展開制御部に連結されて、前記展開制御部の起動によって伸張し、前記遠位アレイ部分を第2の展開位置に移動させるのに十分な展開張力値にまでプルワイヤ張力を増加させることと、
プルワイヤ張力を低減する一方で、前記偏向可能部分を関節移動するように動作するが、プルワイヤ張力を前記展開張力値以下に低減しない、前記関節移動制御部とを備え、
それによって、展開を関節移動から独立させる、

前記第1および第2のスレッド部材は、前記回転部材の回転による係合のために適合され、
前記第2のスレッド部材と前記第1のスレッド部材の相対位置が、前記遠位電極アレイの前記展開位置を決定し、
回転部材の張力の変化は、前記第1および第2の部材の前記相対位置を変えず、それによって、展開を関節移動から独立させる請求項1に記載のカテーテル。 - カテーテルであって、
