Description
フェース面１０に細溝３０を形成すると、フェース面１０の表面硬度が低下し、磨耗し易くなる場合がある。そのため、細溝３０の形成後、フェース面１０の硬度を硬くする表面処理を行うことが好ましい。このような表面処理としては、浸炭処理、窒化処理、軟窒化処理、ＰＶＤ（Physical Vapor Deposition）処理、イオンプレーティング、ＤＬＣ（ダイヤモンド ライク カーボン）処理、めっき処理等が挙げられる。特に、浸炭処理や窒化処理といった、表面に別の金属層を形成せず、表面を改質する表面処理が好ましい。
図１１（Ａ）は細溝３０の断面形状を三角形（二等辺三角形）とした例、図１１（Ｂ）は細溝３０の断面形状を台形とした例、図１１（Ｃ）は細溝３０の断面形状を三角形（直角三角形）とした例を示す。また、これらの例では、細溝３０間の間隔は０（ｄ＝０）である。間隔ｄを０とすると、突起３１の先端がより鋭くなるため、バックスピン量向上に効果がある。図１１（Ｄ）は細溝３０の断面形状を台形とした例であるが、細溝３０間に間隔ｄを設けている。
