Abstract
【解決手段】端子金具10は、角筒状をなす箱状部12と、箱状部12の前端から前方に突出するタブ11と、箱状部12の後方に間隔を空けて配されて電線30が圧着される圧着部14とを備える。箱状部12には、その箱状部12を構成する上面壁23(壁部)から斜め後方へ片持ち状に延出した形態の侵入防止壁26が形成されている。

Description
別の端子金具のタブが、箱状部に対して斜め後方から接近して侵入防止壁に当接すると、そのタブは、侵入防止壁上をその基端部に向かって斜め前方へ滑る。侵入防止壁の基端部は、壁部に連なっていて剛性が高いので変形を生じ難く、タブのそれ以上の侵入が確実に防止される。
箱状部に対するタブの接近経路が、侵入防止壁の延出端の近傍を指向する向きである場合、侵入防止壁の延出端と、箱状部のうち壁部と対向配置された別の壁部との隙間にタブが潜り込むことが懸念される。しかし、侵入防止壁の延出端は、別の壁部に対し当接又はタブの厚さ寸法よりも小さい間隔を空けて対向しているので、タブの潜り込みが防止される。
係止孔とは別の部分を切り起こし、その切起片によって侵入防止壁を形成した場合、箱状部には係止孔とは別の開口が空き、箱状部の強度低下を招くことが懸念される。その点、本発明では、係止孔を開口させるために切り起こした切起片を利用して侵入防止壁を形成しているから、係止孔とは別の開口を空けずに済む。したがって、侵入防止壁を形成することに起因する箱状部の強度低下が防止される。
以下、本発明を具体化した実施形態1を図1乃至図5を参照して説明する。本実施形態の端子金具10は、全体として前後方向に細長く、先端部にタブ11を有する雄形の端子である。端子金具10は、所定の形状に打ち抜いた金属板材に曲げ加工等を施して成形されたものであり、角筒状をなす箱状部12と、箱状部12の後端(図1〜図4における左側端部)に連なる連結部13と、連結部13の後端に連なるオープンバレル部の圧着部14とを有し、タブ11は、箱状部12の前端から前方へ突出した形態となっている。
本発明は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば次のような実施形態も本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
(1)上記実施形態では、侵入防止壁を、箱状部の上面壁(即ち、圧着部の基板部に連なる下面壁とは反対側の壁部)から延出する形態としたが、侵入防止壁は、箱状部の下面壁又は左右の側面壁から延出する形態としてもよい。
(2)上記実施形態では、箱状部に形成する侵入防止壁の数を1つとしたが、1つの箱状部に複数の侵入防止壁を形成してもよい。この場合、同一の壁部から複数の侵入防止壁を延出させてもよく、互いに異なる壁部から、夫々、別々に侵入防止壁を延出させてもよい。
(3)上記実施形態では、侵入防止壁の延出端を、上面壁と対向配置された下面壁に当接するようにしたが、侵入防止壁の延出端は、下面壁に対してタブの厚さ寸法よりも小さい間隔を空けて対向するようにしてもよい。
(4)上記実施形態では、侵入防止壁を、係止孔の形成に伴って発生した切起片を曲げ加工することによって形成したが、係止孔とは別の部分を切り起こし、その切起片によって侵入防止壁を形成してもよい。

Claims (3)
- 角筒状をなす箱状部と、
前記箱状部の前端から前方に突出するタブと、
前記箱状部の後方に間隔を空けて配されて電線が圧着される圧着部とを備えた端子金具において、
前記箱状部には、その箱状部を構成する壁部から斜め後方へ片持ち状に延出した形態の侵入防止壁が形成されていることを特徴とする端子金具。 - 前記侵入防止壁の延出端は、前記箱状部のうち前記壁部と対向して配置された別の壁部に対し、当接又は前記タブの厚さ寸法よりも小さい間隔を空けて対向していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の端子金具。
- 前記箱状部には、コネクタハウジングのキャビティに挿入された状態において抜止め用のランスを係止させるための係止孔が、前記壁部の一部を切り起こして開口させることによって形成されており、
前記侵入防止壁は、前記係止孔の開口領域に相当する切起片を曲げ加工して形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2記載の端子金具。
