Abstract
【解決手段】光配向処理によって配向規制力が付与された液晶配向膜を含む液晶表示装置の製造方法であって、光が照射されることによって主鎖が切断される高分子を含む被膜を形成する成膜工程と、前記成膜工程において形成された前記被膜に100℃未満の雰囲気下で光を照射することによって、前記被膜に配向規制力を付与する光配向処理工程と、前記光を照射した後に、前記光が照射されることにより前記高分子の主鎖が切断されることによって生成された低分子量成分を除去する除去工程とを含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法、及び前記製造方法によって製造された液晶表示装置。

Description
下記化学式(2)で示される化合物の前駆体を含む液晶配向剤ワニスをスピン塗布、230℃加熱により、櫛型電流ITOパターンを形成したガラス基板上に、下記化学式(2)で示される化合物を含む被膜を形成した。
下記化学式(1)で示される化合物の前駆体を含む液晶配向剤ワニスをスピン塗布、230℃加熱により、櫛型電流ITOパターンを形成したガラス基板上に、下記化学式(1)で示される化合物を含む被膜を形成した。化学式(1)におけるRは電子供与基である。
Claims (9)
- 光配向処理によって配向規制力が付与された液晶配向膜を含む液晶表示装置の製造方法であって、
光が照射されることによって主鎖が切断される高分子を含む被膜を形成する成膜工程と、
前記成膜工程において形成された前記被膜に100℃未満の雰囲気下で光を照射することによって、前記被膜に配向規制力を付与する光配向処理工程と、
前記光を照射した後に、前記光が照射されることにより前記高分子の主鎖が切断されることによって生成された低分子量成分を除去する除去工程と、を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記除去工程において、前記光が照射された後の前記被膜を加熱することによって前記低分子量成分を除去する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記除去工程における前記加熱は、減圧雰囲気下にて行う、ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記除去工程において、前記光が照射された後の前記被膜を洗浄することによって前記低分子量成分を除去する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記除去工程における前記洗浄は、水溶性有機溶剤を含む溶液を用いて行う、ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記除去工程における前記洗浄は、界面活性剤を含む溶液を用いて行う、ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置の製造方法。
- 請求項1乃至請求項6いずれか一項に記載の製造方法により製造された液晶表示装置。
- 請求項7に記載の製造方法により製造された液晶表示装置。
