Abstract
Description
本出願は2007年7月23日に出願された米国特許出願第11/781,635号の優先権を主張し、かかる出願の開示はその全体を参照することにより本明細書に組み込まれる。
本開示は、エアロゲルの入った空洞を有する接着ウェブを含むエアロゲル複合材料を含めた、エアロゲル複合材料に関するものである。エアロゲル複合材料の生成方法及びエアロゲル複合材料の使用方法についても開示される。
エアロゲルの可撓性構造化担体として、接着繊維ウェブが使用された。接着ウェブは、米国特許第6,537,935号及び同第5,888,607号の記述に従って作製された。3デニール(3d)ポリエステル(PET)繊維(ノースカロライナ州シャーロットのウェルマン社(Wellman Inc.))と6dPET繊維(ノースカロライナ州ソールズベリーのコーサ社(KoSa))との75−25配合物(1平方メートル当たり30グラム(gsm))を、毛羽立て、波形化し、30gsmのポリプロピレン(PP)7C05Nストランド(ミシガン州ミッドランドのダウケミカル社(Dow Chemical Co.))に接着した。結果として得られた波形パターンは、1センチメートル当たり接着溝が約4本(1インチ当たり接着溝が10本)であった。
実施例1の接着繊維ウェブをコーティングし、別の接着繊維ウェブ層で間に挟み、このとき各層の弓状の部分が互いに向き合うようにした。積層体サンプルを、実施例1の記述に従い、臨界超過状態で乾燥した。この積層エアロゲル複合材料の熱伝導率は、1メートル1ケルビン当たり23〜26ミリワット(mW/mK)であった。
実施例1のエアロゲル複合材料を次の方法でキャストポリプロピレンフィルムに接着した。手持ち式の実験用ヒートガン(マスターアプライアンス(Master Appliance)モデル:HG−751B)を、最高温設定で10秒間、サンプルのポリプロピレンストランド側の上約5cm(約2インチ)の場所に保持した。次に、キャストポリプロピレンフィルムをこのストランドの上に置き、そっと押さえた。結果として得られたラミネートを冷ました。ポリプロピレンストランドとキャストポリプロピレンフィルムとの間には強い接着が得られた。
