Abstract
本発明によると、バイオマスは、水を吸収することができ、それにより反応器中のpHが調節されうる不活性ガス流を該反応器の中に通過させながら、該反応器中で該バイオマスを酸と接触させることにより、発酵可能な糖に転化される。

Claims (14)
- 反応器中にガス流を通過させながら、該反応器中の該バイオマスの充填された床又は堆積を酸と接触させることを含む、セルロース性のバイオマスを発酵可能な糖に転化する方法において、該ガスは、水を吸収することができ、それにより反応器中のpHを効果的に変える不活性なガスである上記方法。
- 該ガスが、CO2、空気、窒素、又はそれらの組み合わせを含み、好ましくは90体積%より多いCO2を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 該ガス流が循環される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 該ガス流が冷却され、それによりそこから水が濃縮し、そして乾燥したガス流が得られ、その後該反応器に供給される、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該バイオマスが、10 mm以上の平均粒径を有する大きな塊又は粗大な粒子を含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該反応器中の温度が60〜100℃、好ましくは75〜85℃である、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該反応器中に存在する酸及び水の重量に基づき、酸の濃度が70〜75重量%に調節される、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該反応器中での滞留時間が10から14時間、好ましくは約12時間である、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該酸が硫酸である、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 該硫酸の少なくとも一部が、該反応器にSO3を供給することにより得られる、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 乾燥物質のkg当たりH2SO4 1〜2kg、好ましくは乾燥物質のkg当たりH2SO4 1.2〜1.4kgが存在する、請求項9又は10に記載の方法。
- 攪拌されないバッチ反応容器を含む、セルロース性のバイオマスを発酵可能な糖に転化する装置において、該反応容器中で該バイオマスの充填された床又は堆積が酸と接触させられ、該反応容器は酸に耐性のあるライニングを内側に備えられ、かつさらに該反応容器はガスの流入及びガスの流出手段、ならびに酸を供給するための手段を備えられている上記装置。
- コンクリートで作られる、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 該酸を供給するための手段が1以上のスプレーノズルを含む、請求項11又は12に記載の装置。
