Abstract
Description
0.2モルの塩化鉄(III)六水化物と0.1モルの塩化鉄(II)四水化物が、オーバーヘッド撹拌で3ネック丸底フラスコにおいて400mlの脱イオン水に溶解された。この混合物を連続的に撹拌しながら、90℃に加熱した。520mlの6N NaOHが、1時間にわたり1滴ずつ追加された。反応は、24時間続くことが可能であった。
官能性カルボキシル化表面修飾された10.2gの市販のポリスチレン・コア・ミクロスフェアが、全容積が100mlのメタノールに懸濁された。12.4mlの準備された磁鉄鉱溶液が、脱イオン水で洗浄され、続いて1MのHCLにおいて2回洗浄され、最後にメタノールで2回洗浄された。各洗浄ステップには、より大きな磁鉄鉱粒子をより小さな磁性粒子から分離するために、約4000×gにおける遠心分離が続いた。磁鉄鉱は、全容積が100mlのメタノールに再懸濁された。磁鉄鉱とコア・ミクロスフェアは組み合わされ、3時間混合することが可能であった。次いで、この混合物は、脱イオン水で4回洗浄され、次いで全容積が375mlの水に再懸濁され、500mlの3ネック丸底フラスコに装填された。12.6gの蒸留スチレン、0.768gの蒸留ジビニルベンゼン、0.173gのベンゾイル過酸化物、および1.47gのアクリル酸の混合物が準備され、500mlの3ネック丸底フラスコに装填された。次いで、反応混合物は、24時間60℃に加熱された。コーティングされたミクロスフェアは、メタノール、テトラヒドロフランで洗浄され、次いでメタノールで3回さらに洗浄され、水で1回洗浄され、最後に脱イオン水に再懸濁された。

前記磁性材料と前記コア・ミクロスフェアを囲むポリマー層と
を備える、ミクロスフェア。 - 前記コア・ミクロスフェアが、前記コア・ミクロスフェアの前記表面に結合された1つまたは複数の官能基を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記ミクロスフェアが、1つまたは複数の蛍光色素を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記ミクロスフェアが、2つ以上の異なる蛍光色素を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記磁性材料が、約10nmから約1000nmのサイズを有する粒子を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記磁性材料が、約50nmから約300nmのサイズを有する粒子を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記磁性材料が、磁鉄鉱の単結晶を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。
- 前記磁性材料が、粒子の凝集物を備える請求項1に記載のミクロスフェア。

前記コア・ミクロスフェアの前記表面の約50%以下が覆われるように、前記コア・ミクロスフェアの表面に結合された磁性材料と、
前記磁性材料と前記コア・ミクロスフェアを囲むポリマー層と
を備える、ミクロスフェアのポピュレーション。 - 磁気特性を示すミクロスフェアを形成する方法であって、
前記コア・ミクロスフェアの表面の約50%以下が覆われるように磁性材料がコア・ミクロスフェアの表面に結合して、磁化コア・ミクロスフェアを形成するように、前記コア・ミクロスフェアを前記磁性材料と組み合わせるステップと、
1つまたは複数の重合可能材料が、前記磁化コア・ミクロスフェアを囲むポリマー層を形成し、それにより、磁気特性を示す前記ミクロスフェアを形成するように、前記磁化コア・ミクロスフェアを前記1つまたは複数の重合可能材料と組み合わせるステップと
