Abstract
【解決手段】本発明はブチルゴム重合体;高ビニルポリブタジエン重合体;エチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンと任意に少なくとも1種のジエンとのオレフィン重合体;及び過酸化物硬化剤を2〜5phr含む過酸化物硬化性ゴム組成物に関し、またブチルゴム重合体、EP(D)Mゴム重合体及び1,2−ポリブタジエン重合体を含む過酸化物硬化性ゴム組成物に関する。これらの組成物から作った造形品は、薬剤容器、コンデンサーキャップ、燃料電池のシール、電解質含有容器、リング、防振装置、シール、シーラント等の用途がある。

Description
本発明は、ブチルゴム重合体、エチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンとのオレフィン重合体、及び高ビニルポリブタジエン重合体を含む過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドに向けたものである。また本発明は、ブチル重合体、EP(D)Mゴム重合体、及び1,2−ポリブタジエン重合体を含む過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドに向けたものである。
当該技術分野で知られているように、過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドは、従来の硫黄硬化系に比べて幾つかの利点を有する。通常、これらのコンパウンドは、硬化速度が極めて早く、また得られる硬化物は、耐熱性に優れている上、圧縮永久歪が低い傾向がある。更に、過酸化物硬化性配合物は、抽出可能な無機不純物(例えば硫黄)を含有しない点でかなり“一層クリーン”である。したがって、このようなゴム物品は、例えばコンデンサーキャップ、生物医学装置、薬剤装置(薬瓶や注射器の栓)及び可能ならば燃料電池のシールに使用できる。
過酸化物硬化性ブチル系配合物を得る一方法は、従来のブチルゴムをDVBのようなビニル芳香族化合物及び有機過酸化物と併用することである(JP−A−107738/1994参照)。DVBの代わりに、電子吸引基含有多官能性モノマー(例えばエチレンジメタクリレート、トリメチロールプロパントリアクリレート、N,N’−m−フェニレンジマレイミド)も使用できる(JP−A−172547/1994参照)。
同時係属カナダ特許出願2,458,741には、新グレードの高イソプレンブチルゴムを用いたブチル系過酸化物硬化性コンパウンドの製造について記載されている。この出願特許によれば、硬化促進剤(助剤)としてN,N’−m−フェニレンジマレイミドが有用である。
同時係属カナダ出願CA POS−1170は、ブチルゴム重合体及びエチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンとのオレフィン重合体を含む過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドを開示している。
本発明は、ブチルゴム重合体、エチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンと任意に少なくとも1種のジエンとのオレフィン重合体、及び高ビニルポリブタジエンゴム重合体を含む過酸化物硬化性コンパウンドに関する。
また本発明は、ブチルゴム重合体、EP(D)Mゴム及び1,2−ポリブタジエンを含む過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドに関する。
更に本発明は、ブチルゴム重合体、EP(D)Mゴム及び1,2−ポリブタジエンで製造した過酸化物硬化性コンパウンドを含む物品に関する。
図1は、本発明に従って製造したコンパウンド及び比較用コンパウンドのMDR硬化曲線を示す。
図2は、本発明に従って製造したコンパウンド及び比較用コンパウンドのMDR硬化曲線を示す。
限定ではなく説明の目的で本発明を以下に説明する。操作例を除くか、或いは特に指定しない場合、明細書中の量、%等を表す全ての数値は、全ての例において、用語“約”で変化するものと理解すべきである。また全ての範囲は、具体的に挙げても挙げなくても、いずれかの中間範囲を包含する。
・例えばシリケート溶液の沈殿、又はハロゲン化珪素の火炎加水分解により製造した高分散シリカで、比表面積は5〜1000m2/g、主な粒度は10〜400nmの範囲である。このシリカは、任意に、Al、Mg、Ca、Ba、Zn、Zr及びTiのような他の金属の酸化物との混合酸化物として存在してもよい。
・珪酸アルミニウム、及びアルカリ土類金属シリケート(例えば珪酸マグネシウム又は珪酸カルシウム)のような合成シリケートで、BET比表面積は20〜400m2/g、主な粒度は10〜400nm。
・カオリン及びその他の天然産シリカのような天然シリケート。
・ガラスファイバー及びガラスファイバー製品(マット、押出品)又は微小ガラス球。
・酸化亜鉛、酸化カルシウム、酸化マグネシウム及び酸化アルミニウムのような金属酸化物。
・炭酸マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム及び炭酸亜鉛のような金属炭酸塩。
・金属水酸化物、例えば水酸化アルミニウム及び水酸化マグネシウム。
・カーボンブラック。ここで使用されるカーボンブラックは、ランプブラック法、ファーネスブラック法又はガスブラック法で製造され、BET(DIN 66 131)比表面積は20〜200m2/gで、例えばSAF、ISAF、HAF、FEF又はGPFカーボンブラックである。
・ゴムゲル、特にブタジエン/スチレン共重合体、ブタジエン/アクリロニトリル共重合体及びポリクロロプレンをベースとするゴムゲル、又はそれらの混合物。
硬化特性は、ASTM規格D−5289に従って行う可動ダイ流動計(Moving Die Rheometer)(MDR)試験で、Monsanto MDR 200(E)を用いて測定した。上部ディスクは、1°の小弧度(arc)により発振させた。
応力−歪試験は、ASTM規格D−412方法Aに従ってInstron Testmaster Automation System, Model 4464を用いて行った。
コンパウンドの引裂特性は、ASTM規格D624に規定されたダイC引裂試験に従って測定した。
a)所要スペーサーの厚さは、ASTM法の25±4%の許容差に対して更に狭い撓み許容差25±1.5%を得るように(規定の厚さ範囲及びスペーサー要件下で)調節した。
b)ASTMに規定の範囲(1.20〜1.30cm)外の厚さを持った試験片を前記(a)の条件下で試験した。
c)試験片の圧縮に用いたプレートの表面は、ASTM D395に規定されるようなクロムメッキをしなかった。
重合体: 100phr
カーボンブラック(IRB #7; N330): 50phr
過酸化物(DI−CUP 40C): 1〜5phr
で構成した。
0.0分: 重合体添加
1.5分: 増加分でカーボンブラックを添加
7.0分: 過酸化物添加
8.0分: 混合物除去
最終コンパウンドは6”×12”ミルで精製した。
0.0分: 重合体添加、3/4カット
1.5分: カーボンブラック添加、3/4カット
6.0分: 過酸化物添加、3/4カット
8.0分: 混合物除去
最終コンパウンドは精製した(6”×12”ミル上、6パス)。
例1のコンパウンドは、Brabenderミキサーで混合した市販の予備架橋ブチルゴム(Bayer XL10000、イソブチレン含有量=97.8モル%、イソプレン含有量=2.2モル%)をベースとした。過酸化物の使用量は1phrである。
硬化コンパウンドは、以下の試験結果を示した。Δトルク=13.9dN・m、ショアーA硬度=55点、極限引張=4.89MPa、極限伸び=136%。ダイC引裂試験の値は15.67kN/m、圧縮永久歪は9.22%であった。
例2のコンパウンドは、市販の重合体:ブチルゴム(Bayer RB402)170g、EPDMゴム(Buna EP T3950)30g及びJSR RB810 30gをベースとした。これら3種のエラストマーは共にミル上、約80℃で30分間予備ブレンドした。次いでこのゴムブレンドをBrabender密閉式ミキサーに入れ、カーボンブラック及び過酸化物3phrと配合した。
硬化コンパウンドは、以下の試験結果を示した。Δトルク=12.8dN・m、ショアーA硬度=66点、極限引張=4.41MPa、極限伸び=140%。ダイC引裂試験の値は23.54kN/m、圧縮永久歪は21.26%であった。
例1及び例2の結果を第1表に示し、またコンパウンドのMDRトレースを図1に示す。
例3のコンパウンドは、6”×12”ミルで混合した市販の予備架橋ブチルゴム(Bayer XL−10000)をベースとした。このコンパウンドは、ゴム100部、カーボンブラック50phr及び過酸化物2phrで構成される。
硬化コンパウンドは、以下の試験結果を示した。コンパウンドムーニー粘度(ML 1’+4+@100℃)=108.5単位、Δトルク=13.9dN・m、ショアーA硬度=50点、極限引張=9.34MPa、極限伸び=171%。ダイC引裂試験の結果は16.90kN/m、圧縮永久歪は11.49%であった。
例4のコンパウンドは、実験用高イソプレンブチルゴム(XIIR)をベースとした。このようなイソプレン含有量が8.0モル%以下で、ムーニー粘度(ML 1+8@125℃)が35〜40MUのIIRの連続製造法は、次のとおりである。
前記実験用高IP IIRエラストマーは、痕跡量のDVBを含有(約0.07〜0.11モル%)するが、このレベルは市販のXL−10000で見られる量(約1.2〜1.3モル%)の10%未満と少ない。
このコンパウンドは、XIIR85部、EPDM10部、JSR RB810 5部及び過酸化物5部を6”×12”ミルで混合して構成される。
例3及び例4の結果を第2表に示し、またコンパウンドのMDRトレースを図2に示す。
Claims (10)
- ブチルゴム重合体、高ビニルポリブタジエンゴム重合体、エチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンと任意に少なくとも1種のジエンとのオレフィン重合体、及び1〜10phrの過酸化物硬化剤を含むゴムコンパウンド。
- オレフィン重合体が、EP(D)Mゴムである請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 高ビニルポリブタジエンゴム重合体が、1,2−ミクロ構造中にビニル基を70%以上有するポリブタジエンである請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 過酸化物硬化剤が、ジアルキルパーオキシド、ケタールパーオキシド、アラルキルパーオキシド、パーオキシドエーテル、パーオキシドエステルよりなる群から選ばれる請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 過酸化物硬化剤が、ジ−tert−ブチルパーオキシド、ビス−(tert−ブチルパーオキシイソプロピル)−ベンゼン、ジクミルパーオキシド、2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ジ(tert−ブチルパーオキシ)−ヘキサン、2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ジ(tert−ブチルパーオキシ)−ヘキセン−(3)、1,1−ビス−(tert−ブチルパーオキシ)−3,3,5−トリメチル−シクロヘキサン、ベンゾイルパーオキシド、tert−ブチルクミルパーオキシド、tert−ブチルパーベンゾエート及びそれらの混合物よりなる群から選ばれる請求項4に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 少なくとも1種の充填剤を更に含有する請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 充填剤がカーボンブラックである請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンド。
- 過酸化物硬化剤の存在下で、ブチルゴム重合体、高ビニルポリブタジエンゴム重合体、エチレンと少なくとも1種のα−オレフィンと任意に少なくとも1種のジエンとを含むオレフィン重合体を混合する工程を含む過酸化物硬化性ゴムコンパウンドの製造方法。
- 請求項1に記載のゴムコンパウンドを含む造形品。
- 造形品が、薬剤容器、コンデンサーキャップ、燃料電池用シール、電解質含有容器、リング、防振装置、通常シール及びシーラントである請求項9に記載の造形品。
