Abstract
【解決手段】一定の電位が印加される第1の電極と、第1の電極と近接して設けられた第2の電極と、第1の電極上に設けられ、第2の電極と空隙をもって架設された第3の電極とを有し、第1の電極と第3の電極との間には、圧電材料で形成されたスペーサ層を有し、第3の電極に第1の電極と異なる電位又は概略同一の電位を印加して、スペーサ層を伸縮させることにより、第2の電極と第3の電極との接触状態及び非接触状態を選択可能とする。

Description
本実施の形態では、本発明のスイッチ素子及び当該スイッチ素子を有する表示装置に関して図面を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態で示したスイッチ素子を具備する表示装置の構成及びその作製方法に関して図面を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態と異なるスイッチ素子の作製方法に関して図面を参照して説明する。具体的には、スイッチ素子の作製方法において、犠牲層を用いずに空隙を形成する場合に関して説明する。
(実施の形態4)
本実施の形態では、上記実施の形態で示したスイッチ素子と異なる構成に関して図面を参照して説明する。
本発明は様々な電子機器に適用することができる。具体的には電子機器の表示部に適用することができる。そのような電子機器として、ビデオカメラ、デジタルカメラ、ゴーグル型ディスプレイ、ナビゲーションシステム、音響再生装置(カーオーディオ、オーディオコンポ等)、コンピュータ、ゲーム機器、携帯情報端末(モバイルコンピュータ、携帯電話、携帯型ゲーム機又は電子書籍等)、記録媒体を備えた画像再生装置(具体的にはDigital Versatile Disc(DVD)等の記録媒体を再生し、その画像を表示しうる表示装置を備えた装置)などが挙げられる。

Claims (11)
- 一定の電位が印加される第1の電極と、
前記第1の電極と近接して設けられた第2の電極と、
前記第1の電極上に圧電材料で形成されたスペーサ層を介して設けられ、且つ前記第2の電極と空隙をもって架設された第3の電極とを有し、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と異なる電位又は概略同一の電位を印加して、前記スペーサ層を伸縮させることにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極との接触状態及び非接触状態を選択可能とすることを特徴とするスイッチ素子。 - 請求項1において、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と異なる電位を印加することにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極を接触状態とし、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と概略同一の電位を印加することにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極を非接触状態とすることを特徴とするスイッチ素子。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
前記圧電材料は、水晶(SiO2)でなる膜、チタン酸ジルコン酸鉛(PZT)膜、ニオブ酸リチウム(LiNbO3)膜、チタン酸バリウム(BaTiO3)膜、チタン酸鉛(PbTiO3)膜、メタニオブ酸鉛(PbNb2O6)膜、又は酸化亜鉛(ZnO)膜のいずれか一を有することを特徴とするスイッチ素子。 - 一定の電位が印加される第1の電極と、
前記第1の電極と近接して設けられた第2の電極と、
前記第1の電極上に圧電材料で形成されたスペーサ層を介して設けられ、且つ前記第2の電極と空隙をもって架設された第3の電極と、
前記第2の電極と電気的に接続された画素電極とを有し、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と異なる電位又は概略同一の電位を印加して、前記スペーサ層を伸縮させることにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極との接触状態及び非接触状態を選択可能とすることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項4において、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と異なる電位を印加することにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極を接触状態とし、
前記第3の電極に前記第1の電極と概略同一の電位を印加することにより、前記第2の電極と前記第3の電極を非接触状態とすることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項4又は請求項5において、
前記圧電材料は、水晶(SiO2)でなる膜、チタン酸ジルコン酸鉛(PZT)膜、ニオブ酸リチウム(LiNbO3)膜、チタン酸バリウム(BaTiO3)膜、チタン酸鉛(PbTiO3)膜、メタニオブ酸鉛(PbNb2O6)膜、又は酸化亜鉛(ZnO)膜のいずれか一を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 基板上に第1の導電膜と第2の導電膜を形成し、
前記第1の導電膜及び前記第2の導電膜を覆ってスペーサ層を形成し、
前記スペーサ層に選択的に開口部を形成して少なくとも前記第2の導電膜の一部を露出させ、
前記スペーサ層上の一部及び露出した前記第2の導電膜上に犠牲層を形成し、
前記犠牲層を覆って第3の導電膜を形成し、
前記犠牲層を除去し、前記開口部において前記第2の導電膜と前記第3の導電膜の間に空隙を形成することを特徴とするスイッチ素子の作製方法。 - 基板上に第1の導電膜と第2の導電膜を形成し、
前記第1の導電膜及び前記第2の導電膜を覆ってスペーサ層を形成し、
前記スペーサ層に選択的に開口部を形成して少なくとも前記第2の導電膜の一部を露出させ、
前記開口部に導電体を形成し、
前記スペーサ層及び前記導電体を覆って第3の導電膜を形成し、
熱処理により前記導電体を凝集させ前記導電体と前記第3の導電膜との間に空隙を形成することを特徴とするスイッチ素子の作製方法。 - 請求項8において、
前記導電体として、銀(Ag)のナノ粒子を用いることを特徴とするスイッチ素子の作製方法。 - 請求項7乃至請求項9のいずれか一項において、
前記スペーサ層として、圧電材料を用いることを特徴とするスイッチ素子の作製方法。 - 請求項10において、
前記圧電材料として、水晶(SiO2)でなる膜、チタン酸ジルコン酸鉛(PZT)膜、ニオブ酸リチウム(LiNbO3)膜、チタン酸バリウム(BaTiO3)膜、チタン酸鉛(PbTiO3)膜、メタニオブ酸鉛(PbNb2O6)膜、又は酸化亜鉛(ZnO)膜を用いることを特徴とするスイッチ素子の作製方法。
