Description
前記畝は触媒、吸収性材料、吸着性材料、疎水性層、親水性層、またはこれらの組み合わせを包含することが好ましい。
本発明によれば、流体を本発明の積層型微小チャネル装置に流通させることを含む、化学的分離又は化学的転換を行う方法が提供される。
さらに本発明によれば、第1及び第2の流体を本発明の積層型微小チャネル装置に流通させることを含む、流体の混合方法も提供される。
(a)厚みを貫通したスロットを規定し周縁を囲む固体縁部を有する、少なくとも1つの内側薄型シートを形成する段階と;
(b)固体縁部の内部に位置決めされかつスロットの長手方向の対向する端部に位置決めされた少なくとも2つのヘッダ穴を有する、少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートであって、少なくとも1つの内側薄型シートは少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートに隣接して置かれ、固体縁部は少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートを密封可能に離隔し、少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートは、薄型シートの長手方向に平行した長手方向を有するフローチャネルの少なくとも1つの長手方向の壁を規定し、流体はヘッダ穴の1つを通ってスロットの中に入り、フローチャネルの長手方向に平行にまたは長手方向に流れ、別のヘッダ穴を通って出るような少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートを形成する段階と;

(b)固体縁部の内部に位置決めされかつスロットの長手方向の対向する端部に位置決めされた少なくとも2つのヘッダ穴を有する、少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートであって、少なくとも1つの内側薄型シートは少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートに隣接して置かれ、固体縁部は少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートを密封可能に離隔し、少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートは、薄型シートの長手方向に平行した長手方向を有するフローチャネルの少なくとも1つの長手方向の壁を規定し、流体はヘッダ穴の1つを通ってスロットの中に入り、フローチャネルの長手方向に平行にまたは長手方向に流れ、別のヘッダ穴を通って出るような少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートと;
(c)固体縁部の内側で少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートの少なくとも1つに接した物質移動媒体と;を有し、
(d)少なくとも1つの内側薄型シートを少なくとも1つの外側薄型シートと接触させてスタックにし、少なくとも1つの内側薄型シートに接した端部ブロックと共に予備接合済み組立体とし;
(e)予備接合済み組立体を接合して微小チャネル物質交換器にする。
物質移動媒体は、図4、5a及び5b、並びに5c、5d、5eにおいて示すように様々な形態としてよい。図4は、外側薄型シート118に接合した固体材料400として物質移動媒体を示す。他に、触媒材料400を端部ブロック120に接合してよい。
本明細書において使用する化学的分離は、溶媒間の化合物または元素の任意の交換を含み、溶媒は液体または気体または両方としてよい。一例は、吸収サイクル冷凍システムである。化学的分離においては、元素または化合物を含む第1の溶媒が多孔質膜を湿らせるのではなく、第2の溶媒が多孔質膜を湿らせ、第1の溶媒中の元素または化合物が第2の溶媒に移動し、多孔質膜を通るように、多孔質膜の形態である物質移動媒体500を選択する。
多孔質または有孔材料の製造
Microphoto, Inc., Roseville, MIにおいて工業用光化学マシニングを使用して、ステンレス鋼の多孔質材料または膜を作製した。多孔質材料は非常に汚れが無く、輪郭がはっきりしており、かえりを有せず、優れた部品間再現性を有した。しかしながらこの処理は、シートの厚さ以上の直径を持つ穴の作製に限定された。本発明者らは、厚さ50マイクロメートルの素材(stock)表面に直径約100マイクロメートルの穴を250マイクロメートルずつ離隔させた有孔シートを作製した。
本発明の好適な実施例を示しまた説明してきたが、そのより広い態様において、本発明から逸脱することなく多くの変更と修正とをなしうることは、当業者であれば明瞭であろう。従って添付の請求の範囲は、本発明の真の精神及び範囲に含まれる全てのそのような変更と修正とを包含するものである。
Claims (9)
- 畝及びスロットを具備する第1の外側シートと、畝及びスロットを具備する第2の外側シートとを具備し、当該第2の外側シートの畝は当該第1の外側シートの畝に対してずれた位置にある、積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 前記第1の外側シートと第2の外側シートとの間に内側薄型シートを有して積み重ね、当該内側薄型シートは固体縁部により画定されシートを貫通するスロットを有する、請求項1に記載の積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 前記畝は多孔質材料を包含する、請求項1又は2に記載の積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 前記畝は触媒、吸収性材料、吸着性材料、疎水性層、親水性層、またはこれらの組み合わせを包含する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 前記畝は触媒を包含する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 前記畝は物質移動媒体を包含する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の積層型微小チャネル装置。
- 流体を請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の積層型微小チャネル装置に流通させることを含む、化学的分離又は化学的転換を行う方法。
- 流体を請求項4に記載の積層型微小チャネル装置に流通させることを含む、化学反応を行う方法。
- 第1及び第2の流体を請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の積層型微小チャネル装置に流通させることを含む、流体の混合方法。
