Abstract
【解決手段】少なくとも磨耗に曝される箇所を減圧中での処理によってコーティングした工具であり、コーティングは工具に直接堆積した少なくとも1種の硬質層と、前記硬質層に重ねた外側の少なくとも1種の摩擦低下層からなり、個々の層のコーンサイズは1μm未満の平均線幅を有する工具である。好ましくは、摩擦低下層のコーンサイズが0.1μm未満であり、硬質層が0.2ギガパスカルより高い圧縮内部応力を有し、硬質層が金属炭化物、金属窒化物、金属炭窒化物、およびチタン、ハフニウム、ジルコニウム、および前記金属と他の金属の合金からなる群より選択する。好ましくは、摩擦低下層は炭化タングステンのような金属炭化物と炭素を含んでなり、摩擦低下層の炭素分は61%より多い。

Description
少なくとも磨耗に曝される箇所を減圧中でのPVD処理によってコーティングされた工具であって、前記コーティングが、
チタン、ハフニウム、ジルコニウム、および/又はこれらと他の金属との合金の炭化物、窒化物及び/又は炭窒化物から形成されており、1.1〜8μmの厚さ及び平均線幅1μm未満の粒子サイズを有し、かつ工具に隣接して堆積している、少なくとも1種の硬質層;並びに
クロム、ケイ素、チタン又はタングステンの金属炭化物と炭素との混合物を含有し、0.12μm〜1.6μmの厚さ及び平均線幅1μm未満の粒子サイズを有し、全炭素分が61原子%よりも多く、かつ前記硬質層に被さって配置されている、外側の少なくとも1種の摩擦低下層、
からなることを特徴とする、工具。
16mmの直径とISO 1641/1タイプN.0110形状寸法を有する高速鋼S6−5−2仕上切削機の間で比較を行った。処理は充分に経時したアルミニウム合金Avional 100(AlCuMg1)の表面仕上とした。切削条件として、切削速度:240m/分、送り:0.3mm/歯、スリット深さ:16mmとした。3つのサンプルを試験した。

c)2.3μmのWC/Cで被覆 RA=2.1μm
d)3μmのTiNと1.0μmの RA=2.1μm
WC/C(炭素72原子%)で被覆
(RAは平均粗さ値を表す)
WC/Cで被覆したサンプルc)は、10分後のオープンスペース上のコーティングの磨耗によって被覆していないフライス切削機に比較した長所がなくなり、即ちコーティングが消失し、4.1μmの平均粗さとなった。窒化チタンのみで被覆したサンプルb)は、未被覆のサンプルa)よりもなお高い粗さ値を示す。比較は、平均粗さで表した加工物の表面品質に関係する。
もう1つの試験において、ステンレス鋼の穿孔を試験した。使用したドリルは直径6mmの高速鋼42螺旋ドリルとした。選択した加工は、AISI316ステンレス鋼の深さ30mmの盲穴の穿孔とした。切削速度は6m/分とし、送りは旋回ごとに0.05mmとした。
3番目の実験シリーズにおいて、黄銅の機械加工を試験した。使用したドリルは、硬質金属K40冷却チャンネルの直径3mmのドリルであった。穿孔した穴は黄銅CuZn37の中の連続穴とした。切削条件として、140m/分の切削速度、旋回ごとの0.1mmの送りとした。結果は次の通りであった。
Claims (6)
- 少なくとも磨耗に曝される箇所を減圧中でのPVD処理によってコーティングした工具であり、コーティングが、金属炭化物、金属窒化物および/又は炭窒化物から形成された、工具に堆積した少なくとも1種の硬質層と、無定形炭素を含有する、前記硬質層に重ねた外側の少なくとも1種の摩擦低下層とからなる形式のものであって;
摩擦低下層が硬質層に被さって配置されており、硬質層が1.1〜8μmの厚さ、および平均線幅1μm未満のコーンサイズを有し、摩擦低下層が、1μm未満のコーンサイズで0.12μm〜1.6μmの厚さを有し、摩擦低下層の全炭素分が61%より多く、摩擦低下層の金属炭化物が、クロム、ケイ素、チタン又はタングステンから成る金属の少なくとも1種から形成されていることを特徴とする工具。 - 硬質層中の金属が、チタン、ハフニウム、ジルコニウム、および/又は他の金属との合金であり、摩擦低下層が、金属炭化物と炭素との混合物を含有する請求項1に記載の工具。
- 硬質層がTiN又は(TiAlV6)Nを含有し、摩擦低下層が、金属炭化物と炭素との混合物である請求項1又は2に記載の工具。
- 摩擦低下層が、WC/C層又はCrC/C層として形成されている請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の工具。
- 硬質層が0.2ギガパスカルより高い圧縮内部応力を有する請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の工具。
- 摩擦低下層の厚さが硬質層の厚さの1/3の範囲にある、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の工具。
