Abstract
光ファイバ(102)上に屈曲波を励起するシステムを提供する。
【解決手段】
システムは、基板(114、118)、アクチュエータ(106)、及び機械的光ファイバ結合材(104)を有する。アクチュエータは電気機械トランスデューサ材料で形成され、基板に搭載されている。機械的光ファイバ結合材(例えば、接着性媒体)はアクチュエータと光ファイバとの間に固定的な機械的接続を形成する。この機械的光ファイバ結合材はアクチュエータから光ファイバに機械的振動を伝えるように構成されている。しかしながら、この機械的光ファイバ結合材はテーパー状のホーンを含んでいない。

Claims (10)
- 光ファイバ上に屈曲波を励起するシステムであって:
基板;
電気機械トランスデューサ材料で形成され、前記基板に搭載されたアクチュエータ;及び
前記アクチュエータと前記光ファイバとの間の固定的な機械的接続を形成する、テーパー状ホーンを含まない機械的光ファイバ結合材であり、前記アクチュエータから前記光ファイバに機械的振動を伝えるように構成された機械的光ファイバ結合材;
を有するシステム。 - 前記アクチュエータの複数の機械的共振周波数は、当該システムが励起するように設計された前記屈曲波の所定範囲の周波数を含まない、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクチュエータの少なくとも1つの機械的共振周波数は、前記屈曲波の前記所定範囲の周波数と少なくとも1オクターブ異なる、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクチュエータは、当該システムが励起するように設計された前記屈曲波の所定周波数に等しい機械的共振周波数を有する、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記機械的光ファイバ結合材は接着性媒体である、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 光ファイバ上に屈曲波を励起する方法であって:
基板上に搭載されたアクチュエータを用い、該アクチュエータを形成する電気機械トランスデューサ材料を励起することによって、機械的振動を生成する段階;及び
テーパー状ホーンを含まない機械的光ファイバ結合材を介して前記機械的振動を前記光ファイバに伝えることによって、前記光ファイバ上に屈曲波を形成する段階;
を有する方法。 - 前記アクチュエータの複数の機械的共振周波数を、前記屈曲波の所定範囲の周波数を含まないように選択する段階、を更に有する請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記アクチュエータの少なくとも1つの機械的共振周波数を、前記屈曲波の前記所定範囲の周波数と少なくとも1オクターブ異なるように選択する段階、を更に有する請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記アクチュエータの機械的共振周波数を、システムが励起するように設計された前記屈曲波の所定周波数に等しく選択する段階、を更に有する請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記機械的光ファイバ結合材を、接着性媒体を含むように選択する段階、を更に有する請求項6に記載の方法。
